My brother and I were looking for some decent grub near the train station and happened to see this place so we decided to check it out. It's one of those newfangled wood-burning oven pizza places that's moderately priced. It's fairly large and had a nice ambiance. We ordered a caesar salad and a margherita pizza to share, and while I can't say the pizza was the best I've ever had (the crust was too thick), it was pretty darn good. Fresh produce, and decent portions. Not a bad selection of craft beers as well. Our server was really great, too.

Worst pizza ever - don't know where the people who love this pizza come from, but it was doughy, soft, soggy and not even very hot when served - bland beyond belief we had the Stache, and what restaurant doesn't serve tea or coffee "Sorry we don't serve hot beverages" Euro trash look and feel and wait staff way too full of themselves - will never go back.

The stache pizza (pistachio pesto, lemon vinaigrette, arugula) was delicious (crispy charred crust, perfect amount of toppings) and they didn't skimp on the arugula. The beet and ceasar salads were also really fresh. Hope to come back next time and try out the cheeses. Wait would have been 30-40min if we wanted a table, but a high top was available. Defining a good place for a quick bite once you get seated.

Quaint spot for a quick bite, we had the Joey pizza and the Tasting Board and those were both perfect for the light fare we wanted.

Each Pizza place I go to in Philly, I always get what I want, then a recommendation from our waiter/ess. Both Pizzas were spot on, the normal cheese pizza had a light crust and was just chewy enough. The Stache was much less tame for the pallet that is used to the corner pizzeria, nonetheless , VERY tasty. Look for my book coming out eventually, "Pizzas of Philly". On a side note, the brussels sprouts were an interesting way to clear out the flavors in my mouth between the two styles of pizzas I had. I should say that I really don't care how I am treated at restaurants, I will overlook a ton for good food. None of my reviews will involve my opinions of the staff - not that Zavino had any issues.

My hobby is testing pizzerias. Zavino's is one of the most overrated, overhyped, and overpriced on the face of the Earth. The good reviews enticed me into fighting rush hour traffic to try a pie, but I was bitterly disappointed by the ridiculously inflated prices and mediocre, assembly line, Ragu-caliber "pizza". I have literally eaten Ellio's slices that had more flavor. The good press is nothing more than the usual scam of owner-written rave reviews.

Great food, best meatballs i have ever had! Meatball are made veal and extremely lean. Everything here seams to be hand made and even though the portions are small, this place is well worth visiting. + The ladies love it

We came at night for some drinks, unaware that they also sold food. We took a look at the pizza menu and felt compelled to order one. This pizza was heavenly. Might have been the drinks prior to eating but this was the most delicious pizza I've had the pleasure to put in my mouth. Everything was fresh and made to order.

Zavino hasn't shared anything with you.
