About a year after this song came out, I remember telling my husband "I heard that Siskel died." Our daughter was about ten at the time, and when she heard my comment, she said "That's terrible that Sisqo died. He did the Thong Song." I then explained that it was Gene Siskel, a respected movie critic that died, and not this guy. Gene Siskel and Sisqo were two very different people. These days, my daughter has changed 180 degrees. She couldn't care less about rap music and she is totally passionate about movies. She reads reviews by all the major film critics. Somewhat ironically, my daughter was the one who told me when Roger Ebert died. I'd like to think that Siskel and Ebert are now giving their "two thumbs up" to their favorite movies in heaven.
