Good piece. This, I think, sums up the whole situation best:
"The young and highly paid leaders on the team ignored it. Carter and Richards passed on a chance to influence the rest of the Flyers and help their new coach. They turned down a chance to lead further proving that the pair were in it for themselves."
The "OMG they drink a lot!!" aspect only scratches the surface. This was about making a sacrifice to benefit the team, and having others buy into it. Alas, Richards and Carter didn't follow suit, among other issues.
