1 dead after World War II-era bomb explodes in Germany
A World War II-era bomb killed a construction worker and injured eight others after it exploded in the German town Euskirchen on Friday.
The bomb was dislodged by a mechanical digger during excavations. Several neighboring streets were also damaged by the explosion.
Hundreds of World War II bombs are uncovered in Germany every year and most are safely detonated. Euskirchen was often hit by Allied bombs during the war.
