The young woman pictured below is a free-lance photographer who was recently diagnosed with stage 3b inflammatory breast cancer. Because she has no medical insurance, friends have set up a "crowd-sourced" fundraiser on the website GiveForward. The goal of Project Amelia is to help this young free-lance photographer cover the cost of treatment resulting from her recent cancer diagnosis. I had never heard of giveforward.com or Amelia Coffaro until a few minutes ago when I heard a story about Project Amelia on CBS This Morning. The many photographers that I follow on G+ came to mind as I watched, and it occurred to me that some of you might also be interested.

life these days is pretty full.... 6 kids, mostly grown; 4 grandkids, barely started; 1 husband, with 39 years in the family business. I currently substitute teach in special ed classes and alternative schools (preschool through high school) after homeschooling my own kids for 23 years, research family history whenever I get a chance, geocache once in a while, maintain a couple of non-profits' websites, and try to find time to organize the thousands of pictures I've taken over the years.
