Today we have the "SQUARRIORS #1" review at its finest! Striking an interesting blend between Brian Jacques' "Redwall" and Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead," "SQUARRIORS: Teeth & Nails" hits a spectacular high note with its gritty world and tight narrative. In early December, Zack Love reached out to me to do a book review for his then newly released novel, “The Syrian Virgin” (2014). "The Syrian Virgin" takes a timely, sensitive topic and weaves a masterful plot line and strong character development around a central character going through an emotional and physical journey. Love's prose is well-constructed and naturally leads readers into other cultures and mindsets in a way that I think not many Americans have much insight into. If you're are intrigued by events abroad and the current political climate, I urge you to give "The Syrian Virgin" a read.
