Introduction
Richard A. Watts, Ph.D. is the Director of the Center for Research on Vermont -- a collaborative networks of scholars examining and celebrating Vermont research -- particularly as that research connects Vermont with the broader world.

Vermont Matters is a blog highlighting Vermont research, Center activities and occasionally Richard's Vermont research. Richard's research examines the role of strategic communications in the development and implementation of public policy related to energy, transportation and public health building on his experience as a policy and communication professional in public policy and political campaigns, as a journalist and a consultant to government agencies, advocacy organizations and business groups.
