Actually, the code behind the pointer location and the image mapping functions is pretty impressive.  The way they're avoiding certain dependencies when polling...  when polling the... yeah. Totally.

This is the sort of stuff I would code if I had any free time whatsoever.  So awesomely pointless. #englishmajorgeekout

David counting his Play-Doh pots (up to 5). Then realizing that swiping them off the table is toddler COMEDY GOLD!

Learn what a nanosecond is and how to give it to someone. Grace Hopper is so interesting and hilarious.

Now, some of you think you know what a nanosecond is, but have you held one?

Grace Hopper is a Naval Rear Admiral and a computer science god as she created the first compiler, also she has a Navy Destroyer named after her. #physics #navy

She just explains it perfectly. Not only the nanoseconds but how the military people's brains work too. :)

A couple really bad cellphone videos of the Space Shuttle landing at LAX, as seen from the rooftop of my office building.  Pretty much the best seats in the whole city (aside from the FedEx guys who were literally ON the runway).  As far as lunch breaks go, this was one of the better ones.

Endeavour was taking a bit of a Grand Tour for its final flight. Due to temperature constraints (the stripped shuttle had to stay above freezing) it needed to fly at very low altitudes. If it was going to be that low anyway, why not show it off? On its way to California it stopped by a bunch of places that were NASA related. Once it got to California, it switched to tourist mode. It buzzed over the Golden Gate bridge, Disneyland, Griffith Observatory and looped over the whole of LA several times. It passed over LAX three times. We were eavesdropping on air traffic control chatter using a radio scanner, so we learned that the pilot was doing pre-landing preps and coordinating with the ground crew.

Turns out you don't need to be a Jedi to block those blaster shots.

And from the sublime to the ridiculous, Wired has published a way-cool-fun-sarcastic appraisal of the physics of "laser" Blasters in Star Wars.

I've seen a couple versions of this throughout the years, but this is the most recent, and it's interactive! Smoothly scale down to a Planck length and up to the estimated size of the universe:
