Hey there! I wrote an article about the design decisions of Flappy Bird. This was mostly to discuss applied game design topics and how they affect a product's reception and experience by the player. Hope you guys find it interesting. :)

Hey! Any 3D artists out there able to help a fellow indie dev?
Hi - I'm after a 3D artist to work with me on a small game project. I don't need anything massively complex (we're not talking Mass Effect 3 here) but you do need to be able to model AND texture the scene / objects. Doesn't have to be low-poly as the objects will need to be rendered out to sprite sheets. Game has a sci-fi setting, so think space ships, hyper speed, lazers and tunnels.

This is a paid gig - although it's just an indie game, so if you're like Industrial Light and Magic level expensive, it's probably best not to contact me :) Otherwise I'd be really happy if you could drop me an email! rdavey@gmail.com ideally with a few screen shots / portfolio link so I can send you the game brief.

Xenoblade Chronicles, often called "one of the best jRPGS" and "What FFXII and FFXIII should have been", is coming to North America in April after a fan campaign to bring it to NA succeeded.

The thing is, the only way to get it is by pre-ordering from Nintendo (as per the attached link) or through Gamestop. Basically, this is a limited run game (I didn't know this).

So, if you're interested in the game, order it now, since you probably won't find it in stores. Otherwise, if you're a collector, pick it up because you'll probably be able to sell it in a few years for double the price.
