Since my chromebook came back from repair it uses an older stable channel and shows the splash screen appearently because it is in unsafe mode. Seems no problem to me?
But after an update it now shows that screen in some Slavic language, Russian or so. How can I change that to English or Dutch again?

My Chromebook (HP14) starts up as FALCO TEST 0289 after returning from repair. This type is not mentioned in chrome recovery.

It does not look good. There are several problems loading sites (gmail reports "This chrome version is no longer supported" !!, and the build is of 2014 and "up-to-date". Many apps such as chrome recovery are "not compatable". Can you believe this??? a chromebook.

I consider to use the usb I made before to reinstall the OS as Falco c31-43A-L57, is this smart?

It feels like I am back in Windows in the nineties, what a hassle! My 11" HP came bacj a while ago from repair with a similar ugly startscreen. Fortunately, that is all and everything is functioning as expected.

A few days ago my HP14 came back from official repai, new motherboard and disk. I am not happy.

It starts ugly as in pic with black lines and in not verified mode. It beeps when spacebar is pressed, but no changing to verified.
The installed version is of 2014 and I cannot update somehow?
The app menu is the old square type, and many apps (restore chromebook for example) are "not supported".
In gmail, a line pops up that the "this version of chrome" is not supported.

This is not how a clean and smooth chromebook should look. Should I resend it, or am I overlooking a quick user-install thing here?
