Bangkok is currently experiencing a revival of traditional regional food, rather than only chasing after the latest international trends.  In my opinion, the best Thai food comes from the Northeast region called Isan.  Isan Thai Food is famous for being very spicy and pungent, seasoned with fresh herbs and fermented fish (plah rah), featuring some…

Very delicious small plates made by Victor Magsaysay, former chef at Sake Bar Paris. My favourites are the mushrooms cooked in sake, cod in a delicious teriyaki-like sauce, grilled eggplant, hijiki seitan. Good selection of sake. The restaurant is tiny so you must reserve in advance. Prices: 3 plates 19 EUR; 4 plates 25 EUR; 10 plates 67 EUR.

Apatam is a small restaurant with very cool decor, nothing like the typical restaurants in Paris. The food is excellent. I went for lunch and enjoyed the seafood dishes -- very fresh and delicious. Service is excellent. I will definitely come back.

Nol Bou is a Korean restaurant in the 15th arrondissement very close to the metro stop Cambronne. It is the best Korean restaurant I have tried in Paris and I have been to 5 of them. I love Korean food and have eaten in Seoul as well as Korea Town (Los Angeles) and Korea Town NYC. The food at Nol Bou is of a much higher quality than at other Korean restaurants in Paris. They have a very good value prix fixe 15 EUR lunch (entree + main course + dessert). Get the bulgogi for lunch and either the green tea ice cream or the black sesame ice cream for dessert. It comes with rice, soup and small servings of kim chi and other vegetables. The restaurant is small, cozy and nicely decorated. Good for a date, a meal with friends or business partners. Dinner is also excellent and the restaurant is more crowded in the evenings. The service is excellent. I live close to Nol Bou and I go there at least once a week. The other Korean restaurants around me are not that good.

I can't describe how good the food is at L'eau Vive. Best dinner I have ever had and I am very picky. The service is fantastic, as is the location.
