Absolutely memorable dinner at this restaurant! They serve dishes with fresh seasonal ingredients, very well prepared and delicious. It was easy to make a reservation even if I don't speak Japanese.

We had an amazing dinner at Shiki. It was easy to make a reservation even though I do not speak Japanese. The woman who served us explained all of the dishes and where the ingredients come from. The dishes are seasonal, meaning they use the freshest ingredients. They recommended 2 different kinds of sake, both of which were very fine. I would come back again to this restaurant. The most memorable dinner in Kyoto!

This is our second time at Comme Chez Michel. I had a fresh crab salad, celeriac soup, bouillon with beef cheeks for my main dish, and for dessert, mocha parfait with berries of the season. All the dishes were well balanced in flavor and presented artfully on the plate. Prices are very reasonable for the dinner set menus and wine. I disagree with the previous reviewer who said that the food was too salty. The food was NOT too salty. If you like totally bland food, maybe you should stick to eating to certain kinds of Japanese food that have little flavor. This restaurant got a Bib Gourmand from Michelin and it is well deserved.

We had a lovely dinner at this very small intimate restaurant which has only 8 seats around a bar. The chef makes all the dishes, which use fresh seasonal ingredients. The food is French with a Japanese twist. I would come back again!

We had an amazing dinner that consisted of refined Italian dishes (with a Japanese twist) and very memorable desserts. The wine list is extensive; we chose a fine Burgundy that had a complex flavor, but did not have a high alcohol content. The service is impeccable and the dining room is quiet and elegant. A great place to have dinner for couples.

Very delicious Italian food (mostly Tuscan) served by a Japanese couple who lived in Tuscany; the woman is the chef and her husband receives the guests. We had such a lovely time and remember the warm, friendly service and wonderful food. We would definitely come back again! The prices are reasonable and they have a good wine list (Italian wines).
