Decompression near IGARI dropped avionics temperatures to -44degC and they kept dropping as MH370 flew south @35,000 feet. This reduced electrical resistance by up to 35% and this shortened the signal path delay.
This delay known as the BTO transmission bias is vital to calculating MH370's range from the satellite. A reduction in this BTO transmission bias would have shifted the perceived 7th Arc closer to the satellite. That is why they have wasted a year and $100m looking in the wrong place.
