Location is prime! It's not far from some major tourist attractions in new york, not to mention, if you know anyone who was a fan of the show Gossip Girl, this is the place for them. You can get signature drinks based off the shows characters which my wife raved about. The decor is very high fashion (which some might consider over the top) but if you know Chuck Bass, it's definitely fitting. The rooms were a bit smaller than I would've hoped, but cozy, and the front desk was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again

As posted before rooms are small and bathrooms are very small in our room we could not even stand in front of the bathroom wash basin. We have had to upgrade to get a better room. Cleanliness could be better as we moved the fridge in our room to facilitate putting a suitcase under the closet shelf and the carpet was thick with dust and dirt. The rooms it would seem offer little storage for clothes should two people be occupying the rooms unless of course you book a suite.

Great location and the facility is okay. Really it's the location that makes it wonderful, so close to everything but way less touristy and the Lincoln Center right next door right between two major sub stations and a block away from Central Park. Prices are generally nice as well. Recommend, but again rooms are just so so...

Every staff member here judges you since you step in. Rude waiters. We went here to have a few drinks and see if they have any good views. But this place has no views but could be a good date place in the summer. Plus drinks start at 16$ which is pretty expensive. Over all it is an okay place.

Dear Sridevi B, Thank you for visiting the Empire hotel and for taking the time to leave a review. We will share the feedback with the respective department and will follow up. In the summer we have our pool deck open and now we have the rooftop Bar open, which has a view of Broadway and Lincoln Center. Warm regards, Gabe Velazquez Director of Front Office

First off the hotel was in an amazing location for the price that we paid. It has a beautiful lobby and the doormen are very friendly and helpful. That's all of the nice things I have to say about the stay. Upon checking in at 7pm on a Wednesday there were 4 staff members at the front desk, not including the concierge. We stood there as they peaked up at us, but no one could check us in. The concierge was kind enough to at least acknowledge us and let us know someone would be with us shortly. Finally we were helped and checked in. We left for dinner and returned around 10pm ready for a good night of rest. Around midnight we were woken up by a woman screaming down the hallway for someone to help and that the guy following her was on drugs and trying to hurt her. We called the front desk for help and they said they knew about it and hung up. Security came up and apparently handled the situation, I would have thought we would at least get a call letting us know everything was okay-we never did. About thirty minutes later is when social hour in the hallway started and a party in the room next to ours. At 2am with no sleep I went to the front desk to ask to have my room switched. I was told there weren't any rooms available, all they had was a room with two small beds. I asked if that room would be quieter and away from the elevators. Once I asked those questions the room was no longer available (at 2am?). I was told to return to my room and if it didn't quiet down to call back. On the way to the room I checked on their website for available rooms during my entire stay and to my surprise every single type of room was available for booking. Within ten minutes I called and said that it was not getting any better, it was getting louder. Security was sent up...instead of knocking on the room next to mine they knocked on my door asking about the situation and I tried to quietly say it was the room next door. Immediately after I shut my door he knocked on the neighbors door to let them know we were complaining and to quiet down. I then received a call from the front desk and I let them know how uncomfortable that made me and how unprofessional it was. A room must have opened up at 2am because keys were sent up and we were moved to a larger room. I would love to say this is where our trip got better....but it did not. The room had a constant strong mildew odor, so bad that we went to the drugstore and bought air fresheners and had to keep the window open the entire 4 days that we were there. It was also boiling hot in the room at all times, so we didn't even notice the open window when it was 20 degrees outside. Aside from the room issues...the bartender at the lobby bar was extremely rude as were the majority of front desk staff. Glad to be home and out of this nightmare hotel. Will never be coming back.

Great location. Rooms are small but ok. Paint on bathroom door was peeling. Room was clean. Hallways are narrow. When I checked out my bill wasn't presented. The front desk woman just charged my card and handed me a folded statement I had never seen. I looked at it before I left. No one asked how my stay was or thanked me for my business. If you're going to Lincoln Center as I was it is right across the street and very handy. There is also a Starbucks next door. If the price I right I would stay again.

Thank you for the recent feedback and review of your recent stay: it is unacceptable of any associate to be anything but pleasant and friendly. My apologies if this didn't meet expectations and as well in regards to the bathroom paint: unacceptable. We hope to regain a bit of confidence for a second chance as a guest staying in the Big Apple. Cheers, General Manager Empire Hotel

Stayed here October 2013. Room was the opposite of what had been requested (had booked an upper floor outside room and we're initially given a lower floor inside one), but this was sorted reasonably promptly by the very courteous staff. The room we finally got was fab with a great view. Incredible decor, all the staff were very polite and helpful, the position was fantastic (3 mins stroll from Central Park) and the cocktails were to die for...oh, and the roof-top Halloween party was amazing. Stay here. You'll love it.

We transferred from another hotel and was very impressed by the excellent service by all of the team. In particular special thanks to Micheal, Jose and Maria for ensuring helping out in our time of need (5 star service!). The room was big, very clean and of a good standard. Breakfast was excellent and the views from the roof terrace were amazing. We would highly recommend this hotel for business, couples and families. We will stay here again on our next visit.
