Maybe it's just me, but lately I have felt that G+ is kind of turning into DeviantArt.
Let me explain....
I started using DeviantArt way back in the day when it first started up and it was a great place for artist to share artwork and projects in the hopes of getting a good following and getting known.
After a year or two the site started to get flooded with fan art, like people drawing or inking over screenshots of anime, shows, movies, comics and even other artist drawings posted on deviantart. It got so bad to the point people couldn't tell who was the original creator. It doesn't help that deviantart won't allow anyone report abuse accept the creator of the original piece.
The main problem is not only the abuse of people stealing but the people doing this are able to provide more content at a faster rate which means this person would get more attention and a greater following. This hurts the original artist significantly. Now we have sites like Dribbble and Behance where that shit doesn't pass. Thank God! But with G+, which is the point of this whole rant is starting to get flooded with wall collectors and people revising already existing themes, or posting screen shots (setups) to the point where it over clouds the stream with garbage making it hard to find original themes, setups, walls, etc. Not trying to point out anyone at all, because nothing really spawned this rant other than it just crossed my mind. But even when I post a new piece in all of the communities, depending on the time of day, it gets buried so fast that not a lot of people actually see it. I understand its meant to be a social feed, but thats not what most of the communities use G+ for. Anyways, the point is, I feel like everyday when I log in to G+ and check my feed 90% of it is garbage post, and that's really sad. Its also sad to see these people or communities have so many more follows because they revamp existing content, or just post setups, or walls.
I think later today I am going to go through the people and communities I follow and clean house, maybe that might help a little.
