Police are great lovers of a last quiet coffee before a long night, or a safe spot to have smoke before they go on patrol. I've noticed that they're also great tellers of tall tales - although often their lips will stay tight...

"Hope"

Carla, my ice blooded sister, my doctor, is trying to maintain her professional tone.
She's failing, her voice now edged with fear:

“Push!”

Outside the window it's daylight, yet the stars are out....
Some last ports are more final than others: Sometimes it's not just the last friendly place before the adventure begins, it's the last friendly place, period. When that happens the wilderness isn't a place, it's just surv...

Radiation and half life crib sheet (and practice questions).
Half-life and radiation
factsheet: General information: Radioactivity happens because: 1.        Some atoms are unstable, and break apart or loose smaller particles to become
more stable atoms – this called the ‘activity’. 2.        Activity is measured Bec...

Story
Tagline
John Freeman has a PhD in Physics, he writes, he paints, he tutors and he's a Scout leader. To his frustration he has never been able to dance, whistle, or play anything musical. Ideally he'd like a job that didn't involve getting out of bed so early. Or ever.
Introduction
I'm a writing, drawing, painting, tinkering, all round space and science geek. I've got ferocious technical skills: I've worked on everything from spectrometers, to high tech coatings, to mass spectrometers, to diffusion pumps, to electronic cigarettes. If you can name  a piece of tech, I've probably at least tinkered with it.

I'm also good with people: I work as a private mathematics and physics tutor in the evenings, and I'm a Scout Leader.

As for hobbies: I'm a contributer to the American Association of Variable Star Observers solar database, I spend many evenings searching for meteors with an especially modified camera. I've tried Judo (I got squashed pretty fast), longsword fencing and Sabre fencing.

If you know me, you know that I'm definitely me and not the average guy.....
Bragging rights
I've got an amazing, close knit and loyal group of friends, an incredibly supportive familly, and the most wonderful missus on this planet. I'm a very lucky guy.
