I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of California’s own, long-time Coastal Commission Director, Peter Douglas. Today, California lost a remarkable friend and an iconic guardian of California’s coastline. For decades, Peter worked tirelessly and demonstrated his commitment to preserve, protect and restore our beautiful coast. My thoughts and prayers go out to Peter's family and friends during this difficult time.
