Fortune Magazine has a feature today on our very own Gretchen Selfridge, Restaurant Support Officer. She started out as general manager at our 2nd Chipotle location and has worked her way up through the ranks. Read more about her story.

Meet Diego, a Restaurateur in Ohio. He wears the "R" on his sleeve proudly. Read his story below: 

Q: Why did you make the decision to work at Chipotle? 
A: Several years ago, I was working at a church doing maintenance. I wasn’t passionate about it, and I just wasn’t happy. At about the same time, my wife interviewed at Chipotle and had such a great experience, that I applied and got an interview a couple days later. Once I was hired, I committed myself to at least 3 years with Chipotle to see where it would take me. 

Q: How long did it take you to get promoted?
A: Going from crew to GM took me about 8 months to be promoted to GM, and within a year of opening my restaurant, we were signed off as Restaurateur. 

Q: What advice do you have for someone who is interested in working at Chipotle?
A: If I could give advice to someone who wants to work at Chipotle it would be that Chipotle is full of opportunities that can change lives. I went from food stamps to now being able to provide for my family like never before. Chipotle is a company that you can succeed as fast as you want- there are so many opportunities available. 

Q: What is your favorite menu item? 
A: My favorite menu item is simply the Chips and guacamole. We make the best guac in the world hands down. It's addicting.
