We're so proud of Susan, the 41st member of the first graduating class at the first and only boarding school for girls in the entire Maasai Mara region! Here's great photo from her recent trip to L.A., to celebrate with us at the recent Unstoppable Foundation Gala. You can also read more about her amazing story here: http://unstoppablefoundation.org/40-1-the-first-graduating-class-of-kisaruni-girls-secondary-school/

Oh what a "gala" night! We also celebrated our first graduating class from the Kisaruni All Girls Secondary School in the Maasai Mara in Kenya. These girls are among the very first in the entire region to be able to attend and graduate from high school.
Susan Mabet, one of the graduates, came all the way from Kenya to meet the Gala attendees first hand, and describe in her own words what an education makes possible. The audience gave Susan a standing ovation after sharing her remarkable story.

Oh what a night! We’re still glowing from a magical evening.
Our goal for the evening was to raise $1 million to bring Laila, our newest community of 2,000 men, women and children in the Maasai Mara the funding to provide all 5 pillars necessary to bring education and sustainability to the entire community for five years. In addition, it will provide a school library, kitchen and much needed teacher housing.
The evening was a huge success. The Proctor Gallagher Institute received the Unstoppable Hero Award for the second year in a row and Gina Hayden, PGI's VP of Operations, pledged their continued partnership and announced that they will match 100% of all employee and client donations up to $500,000 with a goal of raising $1 million in 2015!
Gala attendees pledged $600,000 that evening. Combined with $250,000 already pledged and an additional $100,000 from existing Sponsor a Village partners, we are thrilled to announce that we ended the evening with a total of $950,000 commited to Laila. We are so close – only $50,000 to complete this project. http://ow.ly/i/aghgL http://ow.ly/i/aghgS http://ow.ly/i/aghh3 http://ow.ly/i/aghh8 http://ow.ly/i/aghhc
