All you people complaining about tax dollars going to gender reassignment surgery, have any of you ever bothered looking at the numbers???  We are talking about PENNIES per taxpayer to help alleviate the suffering of tens of thousands of people!  Suffering that drives 41% of them to attempt SUICIDE.  You claim it's a "mental issue."  Well, science says you're wrong, but guess what... your tax dollars ALREADY cover dozens of mental issues that cost FAR, FAR more than Transsexualism.  Take a look at how much money is spent on anti-depressants.  Nobody questions the need for tens of millions of people to be taking drugs to make them happy every month, and this costs a hell of a lot more than a few thousand gender reassignment surgeries per year, and in many cases anti-depressants don't even fix the problem!  At least for transgender people, transition has a 95% efficacy rate.

Take a look at how much is spent on bypass surgeries and heart transplants.  It's about 100 times more than gender reassignment surgery, and most of these are conditions that could be prevented simply by getting people to change their unhealthy lifestyles, but nobody is screaming about paying for some guy's 4th bypass surgery because he won't stop eating bacon three times a day.  Smoking and alcoholism, both preventable, cost this country BILLIONS in tax dollars... hundreds of times more than gender reassignment surgery.  Nobody needs to smoke or drink, and if they do, why is it MY fault when they need new lungs or a new liver???  Where is the outrage at all that wasted money?  Why should I have to pay for some guy who broke his leg skiing over the weekend?  I didn't force him to go skiing.  That was his choice.  Why should I have to pay for someone's amputation because they have diabetes from being so overweight and drinking two liter bottles of Coke everyday?  I didn't force them to drink that crap.

I get that nobody wants to pay for anybody else's health care.  We're a nation of greedy, selfish bastards, but if we have to pay, it's unfair to pay for some conditions and not others just because our perception is that one is more valid than another.  Whatever the cause of Transgender issues, they're no less valid than other conditions that people acquire as a result of poor lifestyles, so let's stop the hypocrisy.  We are ALWAYS going to be paying for stuff we don't want to.  At least gender reassignment surgery will save hundreds of lives every year.  I don't see anyone committing suicide over not getting a facelift or liposuction.
The nation’s health law opens the door for transgender people to gain coverage for gender reassignment surgeries they previously could not afford.

Site says they're open until 11:00 PM on Friday. Called at 10:00 to order a pie and they said they were closing at 10:30 so they couldn't make it. What sort of pizzeria can't make a pie in 30 minutes? Way to lose a customer.

I like this store. It's very clean, and the employees are efficient and courteous. The boys who collect the wagons in the lot always come up to me as I'm walking towards the store and ask if I need a wagon. They carry a decent selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, and even some organics. There is a small group of mini-isles behind the produce section that are dedicated to all natural and organic foods. They carry the bottled water I like in 2 liter containers at a good price. There are a few items that are only available in one brand, which I don't like, and I can't stand that they don't have paper bags. Other than that, I'd say my bill here is always less than it is at the King Kullen on Sunrise in Bay Shore. As to the one star reviewer, how much credence would you give to someone who can't spell, or write a grammatically correct sentence?

Fran is an absolute professional who always greets you with a smile, and puts you at ease during the sessions. She's the sort of person who you recommend to your friends because she's that good, and her prices are more than fair. She cares more about her job than most people I've ever worked with, or for. I would never go anywhere else.
