Raspberry Pi + Science + Programming + Dogs. Can't tell if this is satire or satyr.

This is a fantastically important talk. Listen to Cory look into the past 20 years and the next 20 years of communication and freedom of speech on the back of the general computing and general communication platforms PC and the Internet.

The best part is that after weeks of fighting to wring out a deal that meets the bare minimum of expectations, they get to go on vacation.

Dreams worth having: In a post apocalyptic world, Rick Grimes is on the road with his son Carl in search of food and shelter. In his search he encounters a lone enclave where Saul Tigh, Galen Tyrol, and Samuel T. Anders, three of the final five Cylon are eking out a living. The Cylon welcome Rick and his son, but there is no escape. Nuclear winter is coming and their shelter is overrun by zombie cats.

Let's celebrate the New Year with a bunch of 13 year olds blowing off their hands with mortars and annoying the shit out of everyone else in the process.

Another fantastic talk from 28c3 from a couple of the researchers who work on Tor.

Here is a little more insight into this talk with a summary from Cory Doctorow. It is a little nerdy throughout but it is definitely worth the watch.

"Two thirds of the way through the talk, they broaden the context to talk about the role of American companies in the war waged against privacy and free speech -- SmartFilter (now an Intel subsidiary, and a company that has a long history of censoring Boing Boing) is providing support for Iran's censorship efforts, for example. They talked about how Blue Coat and Cisco produce tools that aren't just used to censor, but to spy (all censorware also acts as surveillance technology) and how the spying directly leads to murder and rape and torture."

Quite possibly the coolest addition to the internet since the API and standardized REST based services... A tool that opens up Web App API's to everyone, by connecting services to each other with hooks and actions.

So you were tagged in a photo on facebook, and would like to have a copy on your computer? Go in to facebook, open photo, click download photo, find folder, save.

Forget that.
Sign up for the recipe "Download Facebook Tagged Photo" and every time you are tagged in a photo, it will automatically be uploaded to your Dropbox, and thus magically appear on your computer.

This app is going to be the glue that finally allows for some coherence among disparate web services.

At 13 years old I saw STS-81 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STS-81) launch in the middle of the night with my family. Still one of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed.

In celebration of 30 years of shuttle flights, Nature Video put together this video of all 135 missions.

I've had a great experience with Grande for internet service. They offer the fastest internet for the price in central Austin. Customer service has always been very responsive and quick to contact. I would go with Grande over Comcast or AT&T anyday.

Houndstooth serves the best pour over coffee I've ever had. I've since become a total convert on the clever coffee maker, all my coffee at home is made with it. Great atmosphere, friendly baristas, and tasty pastries. Try the blackberry pop-tart.
