This place is Great! Its in sort of a weird place but once you get inside it feels classy. This is a vegan "Sushi" restaurant. The Spicy Tuna is good. Dynamite roll, Pirates of the Crunchy and dragon roll are a few of my favorites. I would recommend taking a few friends and sharing some things. Just a side note, it can get pricey. If you have never tried this place you should definitely check it out. Very unusual flavors. Its great for omnivores as well as people who dont eat fish. The staff are super friendly and very polite. Definitely feels very upscale. They do have a second location in Culver City.

I love Shojin. My boyfriend and I are regulars here and love the food. We like to come here at least 3 times a month, I know that's so much eating out - but I can't get enough. Their sushi is very good and the price is affordable too, not too pricy. I really appreciate it that their food is organic and all natural, very healthy.

probably the best sushi i ever tasted around the area. the place is clean and the waiters are attentive but not pushy enough to get you order the expensive ones. :) two thumbs up for this place!

Probably the best Japanese Vegan dining I ever went to. Asparagus and Crunchy Potato is my favorite dish here while my husband would be their spicy tuna. It is a great place that is suitable for any occasion. Very friendly staff that's not pushy with the order. Great Place!

I make it a priority to come to Shojin every time I am in LA. Hands down my favorite restaurant! They have a superb selection of both healthful, fresh options and the more decadent, creamy ones. A great place for vegans and carnists alike (though of course everything is 100% vegan) I also really appreciate that they have authentic options as well as more American style rolls. And the customer service is outstanding.

The Asian food selection and variety of Little Tokyo in Downtown Los Angeles is well known. However, some of the best food you can find there will not be easily located on the main strip. Shojin is one such restaurant which I stumbled upon while meandering in some of the less traveled areas of Little Tokyo. This little restaurant is practically concealed among several other “hole in the wall” shops, but those adventurous enough to wander inside should be prepared for a delightful surprise. As you breach the threshold of the draped entry curtains you are transported into a classy yet casual environment. A dim flicker and soft glow showers down from numerous fixtures providing enough light to read by while still leaving your senses open to the wonderful experience Shojin has worked hard to create. Classical and Jazzy renditions of popular radio songs can be heard over the casual murmurings and dinner chatter of the other patrons enjoying their meals. All around the room you can find tastefully selected art on display to add the ambiance. Walking in off the street you may feel out of place wearing shorts or jeans until you realize that this is the same attire the rest of the patrons are wearing. It’s a rare experience to be able to meld the beauty of fine dining with the comfort of a casual setting. Not to be outdone by your impressions of the incredible dining environment the service is quick to welcome you and make you feel at home. With a finely groomed look and polite manner your waiter will guide you to a table, assist with any bags or jackets, and pull your chairs out for you. Throughout the entire meal it feels as if the waiters are anticipating your’ every need; quick to take your order, refill your drinks, and be on hand before you even realize you had a question or request. This is the kind of service you would expect from highly rated restaurants. While ambiance and service are highly important parts of the dining experience your final opinion of a place almost always rests on the quality of food, and Shojin does not disappoint. Specializing in organic, natural, and vegan foods with a Japanese twist, Shojin creates an array of foods that plays on all the senses of sight, flavor, and texture. This is healthy food that leaves you feeling light and energetic at the end of the meal; all while providing an amazing menu of delectable flavors. I am not much of a health food fanatic, but the selection at Shojin would appease anyone out looking for a wonderful meal. If you are looking for someplace new that will excel in all aspects of the dining experience then a visit to Shojin can’t be passed up. From their stunning setting to their amazing service and incredible menu selection you will be pleasantly surprised at the level of quality that is provided to you. I strongly suggest you stop by to see for yourself all that Shojin has to offer.

Came here with a group of friends for dinner and drinks and the experience was perfect! The table they had reserved for our group of 9 was set up in a room with great art and ambiance, and we had it all to ourselves. Our server was a lovely man with a lovely smile; he was very attentive and appreciative that we were there. And the food was delicious!!! Vegan and open until midnight -- what an awesome combination. We will definitely be back again and again.

Shojin is awesome! We attempted to eat there last night based on the hours of operation on Google and were sad to come to find that Google of all places is incorrect! We drove all the way over there and were so ready to gobble some amazing vegan sushi but they actually close at 10pm on Sundays and they website is correct, but we only looked at the Google info thinking it would also be correct. I am sad that I showed my frustration to the people working there based on my previous trust that Google would be correct.
