This place is awesome! Full of unique toys for all ages and reasonably priced. They even have an indoor play area! I wish we'd had more time to spend here.

My family (my husband, our 16 month old son, and myself) came to Hale for a family reunion. We had originally booked an Airbnb but upon discovering that it didn't have air conditioning, we called the Colonial less than two weeks before our trip. To our relief, they had a vacancy with air conditioning. We booked room 16, which is the two bedroom suite. It's quirky and seems like it used to be an apartment, and I was excited to discover it had a full kitchen. Unfortunately, the kitchen didn't have a single utensil, plate, pot, or pan. Not even any dish soap. My son has very specific dietary restrictions so eating out wasn't an option. We wound up going to Koschers and spending $20 on a frying pan, and buying disposable utensils, soap, etc. We made it work but it was frustrating to have a kitchen that was completely unusable. Additionally, the entire place stunk of stale cigarette smoke, despite it being a nonsmoking suite. I wasn't worried about this until the smell managed to seep into everything we owned during our three day stay. It was also FILTHY. There were dead bugs all over the floor when we checked in. The tile floor was so dirty that we had to wear socks during our stay. When we walked around barefoot, our feet turned black. The bathtub and kitchen sink didn't have drain stoppers, but luckily we had some silicone baby bowl lids that we used to plug both the sink and the tub. That said, I was impressed with the older man who works there. When we made our reservation we let them know our plane didn't land in Detroit until 5, so we may barely make it before the office closed at 9. Through a series of mishaps we didn't leave DTW until 7. When I called to let them know our delay, he said he'd leave the room open for us and we could just stop by the office in the morning. This was very nice of them. I can't say I'd want to stay here again.

This place is DISGUSTING. Carpet was covered in stains and worn out, there was a hair on the shower wall, the room was huge but strangely laid out, and the sofa was at least 20 years old. The bedspread had been kept up to date, but surprise!--it was only on the bed to cover a stained comforter. I was so glad we were only staying for 1 night before moving on.

So as not to bury the lead: there were several pieces of MEAT in my VEGETARIAN dish. I've avoided the Old European/Little Euro restaurants for over 4 years, because this happened to me the last time I visited as well. I thought it was a one-time thing, but I guess not. I ordered the Garden Goulash and found one piece of ham while at the restaurant. I picked it out and kept eating (carefully), when many vegetarians would have pitched a fit with the waitress. I am not one of them. When I got home and reheated my leftovers, I found 3 more pieces of meat (1 more ham, 2 bacon) after reheating it. $12 to waste most of it. Guess it will be another 4 years before I'm dumb enough to try again.

Took two days to even call me back for a new patient appointment. Ridiculous.

I went here with my 2 sisters in law and mother in law, upon the recommendation of a friend. Amber is very nice but not very good at her job. After 3 days my nails are falling apart...not that they looked very professional to begin with. I asked for designs expecting that they'd be done freehand, since she's a professional and all. Instead I got stickers. I could do stickers myself. She suggested doing glitter tips on 2 nails, and it could have been cute if she'd done it with any precision at all. Not that it really matters since the glitter started coming off after 2 days. She couldn't even stay within the lines with the polish, and going over the edge of the nail leads to lifting, which leads to peeling. Half of my pinky peeled off because of lifting, and I'm just waiting for the others to follow suit. Amber should not be allowed to do gel polish nails. I'm unlicensed and untrained and I do my own gel nails better than she did. What a waste of money.

$17 to flat iron hair? Really?! The way this place piecemeals their prices (a cut may be $11.95, but shampoo is an additional $4, blowdry another $2, and flat iron a whopping $17) is extremely fishy, and means it will add up before you know what you've gotten yourself into. For $34.95, you can go to a much nicer place than this.
