Stopped in to this gastropub for lunch during a conference downtown. Got one of their burgers and it was very good. However, what really makes this place great is the service. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about the menu/specials and very friendly. They checked in multiple times to make sure everything was perfect and ask if we needed anything.

I loved this place. I got the scallops for a started and they were the best scallops i have had. I also tried the octopus that came with it or i think thats what its called anyway. That was the only time i have ever been able to eat it. I tried it another time at Volare resteraunt in chicago and it tasted like a car tire there. I also got a steak here and it was perfectly cooked and so tender i couldnt believe it. The best steak i have had in a very long time. I ordered a crown royal and coke as well and it was made perfect as well. Every bit of my experience here was amazing. My fiancé did not like the first dish she ordered which was amish chicken with some yogurt stuff and it was terrible, but the waiter took it back and she ordered something different and she loved it. Also on a side note they did not charge me for the chicken my fiancé ordered and did not like so that was really cool of them. Over all this is one of the best restaurants i have eaten at. They are pretty expensive for what i am used to but all things taken into account we spent around $150 for the two of us including the tip so it was not too bad. I would recommend this to anybody and everybody who is going to be in chicago.

This is more of a 3.5 than a 3. I wanted to go to Wildberry for brunch on Sunday but I didn't feel like waiting an hour for a table. Thanks, but no thanks. So instead, I managed to squeeze in a 1:30 reservation at the Gage! We ordered the venison burger (I couldn't tell that it was venison since it was mixed with some ground pork. So instead of a gamey flavor, it tasted like a regular burger), Gage burger (huge patty!), mussels (good flavor). So why not 4 stars? The food was good, but I don't see myself coming back for more. Service was good! Food took a bit longer than I thought it should, but it was okay.

Just wanted to grab a solid lunch a small distance away from Hilton Chicago...and boy did The Gage not disappoint. They were pretty packed, but I was able to sneak into a high-top, snug in a back corner (not a big deal, I mean, it was just me eating). The waiting staff was super attentive and my server Wes informed me that they had Zombie Dust on tap when I asked about their selection of of my favorites! I also ordered the baby kale salad, which was on point! It had some flavorful thick cut bacon with a hint of a sweet glaze. It meshed well with the dressing and the tomatoes. Wes also pointed out a few popular items on the menu, but I ultimately went with my gut (and his first suggestion)...the Veal Burger. I tell you came out cooked perfectly and it was all around fantastic. An explosion of flavors from spicy to savory to a little sweet from the sauteed onion. I didn't leave a single scrap on my plate. I will definitely be returning when I am in Chicago again as this was just a great lunch experience for me overall. Thank yous go out to the staff and the kitchen! Superb Job!

Great location and great food. It was easy to get to and in the heart of downtown. Our group split a number of different dishes. The waitstaff was friendly and it's definitely a place I would go back to.

Great atmosphere and service! Food was great! Went for brunch and had a Scotch Egg and House Made Corned Beef Hash. Both were incredible!
