This is a great place to stop for lunch or dinner when you're on the I-5 traveling north or south. The co-op deli makes great sandwiches and home-made soup, as well as a huge variety of killer desserts. It's become somewhat of a joke in our family, but we always seem to find some way to arrange a day out in the Skagit to include a meal at this place!

This is my favorite grocery+ store ever! Some items may be cheaper elsewhere, but those places don't satisfy my conscience like The Co-op. They treat their employees and members really well, with profit sharing for all, and they work with local suppliers of all sorts: farmers, artists, craftspeople, apothecaries, soap makers, dairies, etc. The staff is beyond helpful, always friendly and have gotten to know my family over the years we have shopped there. Amazing food in the deli, and they roast their own coffee and filter their own water (used on the produce and in the deli, as well as available for purchase). And, if they don't have something you need, ask them to get it, and they will! People come from all over and say this is the best co-op around, and I agree wholeheartedly. (Oh, and now I work there, too, and it's the best work environment ever!)

Love this place. Wonderful selection of healthy food in a very pleasant environment. Their cafe/deli has a great selection of food available all day and there is a large comfortable seating area to eat and relax with free WiFi. Located at the end of the main downtown walking shopping street. Mount Vernon is one of the few towns to still have a traditional walkable vibrant downtown shopping area with lots of great restaurants and acres of good free parking.

Excellent, delicious healthy food, chaotic seating, really kind service staff. Great coffee too and love the grocery store. Tulip festival definitely had the cafe hopping! Will come again.

A jar of cashew butter at the so called "food co-op" costs $16.99. The same size jar, same brand of cashew butter at the grocery outlet costs $2.99. This is not a co-op, but a grocery store. Just call it what it is! There are no discounts and if there are, then they make up for it in how much they mark up products. The discounts are there when the manufacturer gives a discount on the product to the "food co-op" so they never take even the smallest hit for the "sale." This store makes $16 million per year and not only mark up the prices, but they don't even pay their workers a living wage. Yes, the food is great and I do have dietary restrictions, however that does not make them good contributors to the community. Due to the greed that I see in what they charge for products and how little they pay their workers, I'm only giving two stars.

Small coop that has the basics, although pretty expensive compared to other Coop's. The sad thing is the location is so depressing. You are right under the highway on one side and on the other side you are in downtown of a sad downtown Mt. Vernon. The coffee we ordered took over 25 minutes to make. It's just not worth it.

Huge health food store. They have every type of imaginable health food including great energy bars and snacks. There's also a nice cafe inside with coffee that is pretty good. Just don't go looking for any regular water as the shelves are only stocked with kambucha.

Highest prices I have seen in a coop. Ever. 4.39 for a Lilly's chocolate bar??? Forget about buying meat here. Exorbitant prices for Wal-Mart quality meat.
