This is my favorite grocery+ store ever! Some items may be cheaper elsewhere, but those places don't satisfy my conscience like The Co-op. They treat their employees and members really well, with profit sharing for all, and they work with local suppliers of all sorts: farmers, artists, craftspeople, apothecaries, soap makers, dairies, etc. The staff is beyond helpful, always friendly and have gotten to know my family over the years we have shopped there. Amazing food in the deli, and they roast their own coffee and filter their own water (used on the produce and in the deli, as well as available for purchase). And, if they don't have something you need, ask them to get it, and they will! People come from all over and say this is the best co-op around, and I agree wholeheartedly. (Oh, and now I work there, too, and it's the best work environment ever!)

Huge health food store. They have every type of imaginable health food including great energy bars and snacks. There's also a nice cafe inside with coffee that is pretty good. Just don't go looking for any regular water as the shelves are only stocked with kambucha.

Highest prices I have seen in a coop. Ever. 4.39 for a Lilly's chocolate bar??? Forget about buying meat here. Exorbitant prices for Wal-Mart quality meat.

I live 30 mins away... but still prefer to do ALL of my grocery shopping here. Plus, since it is a CO-OP, you end up getting a tax return from the IRS, depending on how much you spent there! I got $60 in store credit this summer. Which was just a bonus, because the co-op is the only place I really like to get my produce, and just about everything else. I love the co-op! Been in love since the first time I went there.

Love this place. Wonderful selection of healthy food in a very pleasant environment. Their cafe/deli has a great selection of food available all day and there is a large comfortable seating area to eat and relax with free WiFi. Located at the end of the main downtown walking shopping street. Mount Vernon is one of the few towns to still have a traditional walkable vibrant downtown shopping area with lots of great restaurants and acres of good free parking.

Excellent, delicious healthy food, chaotic seating, really kind service staff. Great coffee too and love the grocery store. Tulip festival definitely had the cafe hopping! Will come again.

I only shop here for produce or all their great home products because it is just not worth it for specialty flours, of which I use a lot. Although I find that the prices are not that different from grocery chains for the same, or better, products, I have to buy gluten free, and I find that their selection is often limited. As far as gluten free flours go, QFC and Haggen have far more variety. It is, nonetheless, a nice store, though I use it infrequently because it does not carry what I need.

This is the best store in the area! Everything you need, and all reasonably priced. Not to say there aren't expensive things too, but the price is still reasonable for the great quality you are getting from a local source. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. And the guys in produce really seemed to know there stuff. I will definitely stop in again anytime I am in the area.
