The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog embodies the conviviality of Old New York and the Irish-American tradition.

Our ground-floor Taproom offers an informal setting for the enjoyment of craft beer, bottled punch, and whiskeys of the world, with lunch served daily.

Upstairs, our sumptuous Parlor focuses on small plates, communal punch, and 72 historically-accurate cocktails dreamed up by the nineteenth century’s most celebrated bartenders.

The Dead Rabbit is dedicated to advancing the art and practice of hospitality, as it was understood then and as it is understood now, for all residents of and visitors to this great metropolis.

Each and every time I have been here the service has been on point and the food consistently amazing. The venue is intimate, whether you are in the Tap Room, or The Parlor, it has an intimate, friendly feel. The cocktail menu is meticulously crafted and after witnessing the many iterations before a cocktail makes the cut, this is a far cry from your "average" Manhattan bar. Ignore the reviews about not being able to make reservations and the other whiny crap. The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog is a come one, come all bar for the cocktail loving, hearty food consuming customer.

I love coming here for lunch. The upstairs is my preference where you can kind of tuck away at the high top table and booth and take your time. The service is pretty slow, there is usually only one server upstairs and they have to go downstairs to get cocktails from the bar, so be patient. This place has hands down, the best Irish coffee in America. That's not even just my opinion, I think that is a fact. Yummy dishes too, good salads and the lamb pot pie is really delicious. The variety in the menu is kind of disappointing, but I've never been here for anything other than lunch.

Best Sazerac I'd had in a long time, ask for the cognac version, also great ambiance. Always made it a point to stop in when in town.

I eat dinner here 2 - 3 times a week whenever I'm in the Financial District on business. You've got to get there before 5:00pm if you want to sit downstairs. The staff are the greatest around and are always courteous and friendly; the food is incredible, I'm partial to the pork belly sliders and the braised rabbit. The Irish Whiskey varieties are abundant, as is the Scotch. This is a must visit place if you are in the area.

Great cocktails and delicious food in a cool space. Nothing more to say! Worth a stop if you're downtown.

Dead Rabbit is a great experience; the staff, the atmosphere, the cocktails, the small plates, and the cool cocktail book menu all made for a pleasant evening. The only negative was the bread pudding. I recommend the pate and the $1 oysters available at certain times.

The Dead Rabbit is one of the gems along the otherwise deserted area along South Street Seaport. It's split into two levels: the downstairs Tapoom and the upstairs Parlour Room. The Taproom resembles your typical bar; a long wooden table with plenty of beers on tap, but the best bet is to wait for a seat in the upstairs Parlour, which offers a specialized cocktail menu that's organized in a leather-bound book. The The Peach Blow Fizz is an perfect summer drink, made of London Dry Gin, Strawberry Cordial, Bittermens Burlesque Bitters, and finished off lime and lemon juice, rhubarb soda, and fresh cream. A number of savory dishes, like the Chips with Dip, savory pies, sandwiches, and more can also be ordered as well.
