Went for dinner after another spot was closed for the weekend. Seated right away for 2. Ordered the calamari and marg pizza w/ ital sausage. Beer selection was okay for being in an amazing area for great beer. The calamari and dipping sauce was excellent, and the calamari were fried correctly and not overly drenched in oil. The pizza was awesome. Crispy crust, the right amount of cheese and toppings. Basil was shredded instead of being large leaves, making for a better product. I would go back for the food, but not as a spot to try VT beers.

Poor service late 6/28/15, left before entree served, won't return. Comedy of errors. After waiting at the empty host stand for a few minutes with no staff attention or sign indicating how seating works, we sat at a big table and grab menus. Staff notices us and bumps us to wait elsewhere. No big deal, but barkeeper made me feel bad that the front of the house wasn't covered. That could have been handled more gracefully but Ok, whatever, tired and hungry, excited by menu. Sit on barstools waiting for the two top promised to free up in 5min. 10 mins pass and as we are packing up to try elsewhere, hostess seats us. Ah. There's another room with an open kitchen, and a party of 12+ with kids. And 6 empty two tops? That this section even existed was not obvious from the entrance. Why not have seated us there initially? They may be understaffed? Ok, well it looks like everybody eating is happy, positive reviews online otherwise, so lets sit. And wait. We order. I attempt a joke with the server about the complimentary focaccia, and get an awkward laugh. She seems frazzled and a little checked out. Makes no mention of specials. Two easy to prep dishes (marinated kale salad with chicken and some parsnip fries) and an appetizer, beet risotto. The beet risotto arrives promptly after and it is delicious! There's decent tunes playing (NMH, Spoon, Violent Femmes), all bands I've seen - i'm crushing hard. Something in the kitchen catches fire and the restaurant fills with smoke. Like, open the back door and wait staff is fanning smoke out as we gawk, not a 'usual' flare up. This is out of the ordinary, but staff recovers and the smoke clears eventually. 30 minutes after ordering, we flag down the server who promises that our food will be right out. 10 minutes after, server is MIA, we flag down the host who apologized for the delay and ask for the check for the risotto (the big party, at this point, was just getting their entrees). This is an hour after we walked in the door. Host apologized again, comped us the app, we got out of there, and hit the co-op sandwich bar a few minutes before closing. So, 2 stars for the promise of good food and delivery on tasty risotto. Bad kitchen ventilation and but mostly bad attitude from the staff kept us from a positive experience. I really wanted to like you, Fireworks, but it didn't work for us. It felt like there were missed opportunities to turn this around. E.g. - Have an obvious sign at the host stand indicating wait to be seated/seat yourself. If customer guesses wrong and you're kicking people out of a 6 top, pull them to the bar or offer them a drink while they sit and engage in friendly conversation. Mention that a big party just got seated and that there may be a delay in ordering. Check in on tables that are waiting on food if there are delays or fires.

I was in town for a work training and stopped in to grab some dinner. We started with the hot garlic bread and then had the Meat Pie pizza for dinner. It was DELICIOUS! The waiter was friendly and the restaurant had a cool vibe to it. Maybe I will get to go back one day! I would definitely recommend this place.

Very excited to eat at Fireworks. Food did not dissapoint. Waiter was very knowledgable and friendly, though the close quarters of our table put us too close to two toolbags trying to hate the world while eating dinner. Pasta was awesome. Salad great. But the best was our bacon and shrimp polenta appetizers. Bacon old fashioned cocktail, 2 thumbs.

No question, our favorite fine-dining place in Brattleboro. The staff at the hostess station can be a little cold, but everyone else, from the sharp-witted bartender to the sweet and playful wait staff, is always at the top of their game. Superb thin crust pizza with just a touch of char, and housemade pasta that is so good that we always overeat.
