Theo de Raadt settled this basic question years ago after a highly entertaining exchange (q.v.) on the OpenBSD lists.

Is there an option in Google+ "Mute this person because they keep on blathering on and on about how cool SXSW is". Yes, I have a bad attitude. Yes, SXSW is an awful hipster conference.

Yes they are, evidently +Van Riper had some sort of hipster developer house down there where they are got together to talk about how hip Google's APIs are.

Here's my preliminary summary of SpringOne 2GX today. Well, I didn't really go to sessions, I sat in a conference room and interviewed people for O'Reilly. Today I talked to +James Williams, Emil Eifrem, Derek Collison, +Chris Ramsdale, +James Ward. I've got some good video content that needs to be post-processed, but you can hear by rambling 5-minute podcast summary here:

I'm particularly excited about the lead in graphic for this blog post on "The Lift Cookbook'.

Man, Drupal is dead to me. It just got to be such a nuisance of a technology. Plus, can't we just all agree that PHP is hateful? Can we? I'm guessing we can't, but I'm going to try anyway.

short and to-the-point rant. Agreed on every point. I do laugh when people say "PHP programmer".

Wait, how does Chrome have access to my laptop's accelerometer. I'm using a MacBook Pro so results may vary, but do this, then take your laptop and tilt it.

This is turning my mind inside out. My browser can access my accelerometer.

Very funny to use!

1) Go to Google.com and search for 'Google Gravity'
2) Click on the 1st result that appears
3) Wait 2 seconds. Something cool will happen
4) Play around with it for a while
5) Then write any word in the Google search bar and press Enter
6) Wait and see. Something even cooler will happen

Share if you like it :)

In this episode I comment on the Guava controversy courtesy of the +Kevin Bourrillion post on patches. I also provide a little bit of information about what +Jason van Zyl is trying to do with Tesla.
