Soon there will be more "Western" kung fu masters than Hong Kong kung fu masters...

Being a non-chinese teaching chinese
Kung Fu, I often have chinese people
asking me "how and where" did I learn
kung fu; if I never lived in China.

Some are not aware that Chinese masters
have immigrated to other countries, and are
actively teaching kung fu to non-chinese.

None of my masters (White Crane and Wing Chun) were chinese, but my grandmasters always are.

In the following YouTube video link

https://youtu.be/AZnrZcEKUMc

(Fast forward to 33:00 minutes)

a chinese Hung Gar master moved from
Hong Kong to Germany because he began to
find that Hong Kong residents are now rarely
interested (or have no time) in learning kung fu
because there are so busy trying to earn a living
or earn a fortune.

He also states that Westerners take their
training seriously, are more excited about
Kung Fu, and there will be a time
soon where there will be more Western masters
in Kung Fu than in Hong Kong. There will
also come a generation where people in Hong Kong will
be learning Kung Fu from Western masters.

This is one Sifu's opinion, but I have heard this
from Wing Chun Sifus, from White Crane Sifus, and from Filipino Arnis masters.

Very interesting.
