While no system is impenetrable, I think the investigation is going to show that a whole bunch of standard information-security protocols went unused or unenforced. #causethatshowitis

I think it's an open question whether Twitter's service can be monetizable at all. 

Hypothesis: People who dislike being "labeled" as one thing or another secretly fear they are conformists who, were they to accept the legitimacy of the label, would feel confined by it.

This is an immeasurably bigger deal than the overwrought net-neutrality bellyaching. At its root, it's the Five Eyes countries scanning every computer in every country they can, looking for private networks they can crack.

"Imagine you went to an attackers site while you had your webmail open in another window -- the attacker could scrape your e-mail data and see what your browser sees. Worse, he could snag a copy of your session cookie and hijack your session completely, and read and write webmail on your behalf."  If you're running Android 4.2 or earlier, don't use the stock Web browser (my preferred Android browser is Dolphin, but Chrome for Android is good, too.

Changes here are so fundamental, I'm not sure there's an easy way out.  What can Brown do for you?  Probably less and less at its preferred price points ...
