Amazing work, and I see we also have a love of cars and genealogy in common. What is the car in your pic?
Oooooh, lovely. Until recently I owned a Blackpool-built sports car. After several years happy motoring (and breaking down regularly) it needed a total engine rebuild so I decided to sell. I miss it terribly when I sit in my boring 12 year old Fiesta, which was the back-up car. An Aston would be nice...
I have 1st cousins in England and they get a kick out of it every time I say something about my English roots. Other than the 5 of them my closest English relation is 1625. The most interesting or should I say the one who has caused the most consternation is my 2X Great grandmother who came from Scotland to Glengarry Ontario Canada around 1843. The Aston is something I just love the lines to it
Ha ha - trust the Scot to be the most troublesome! I guess she did not have a baptism record, and there is no record of her parents' marriage? It's very common. There may be burial records if you know who her parents were. The Aston is very pretty :-)
She was 3 year old or so the story goes when her father mother and sister left scotland about 1843. She is buried in Natural Bridge New York died 1904 her parents are buried somewhere in Glengarry Co Ontario Canada. There are no Naturalization records although her dead certificate says she was naturalized in 1896. But that maybe just what someone believed. She is a puzzle and she like to change her name unbelievable how many different ways she presented herself
