What are Geosynthetics?
Geosynthetics are human-made materials made of various types of polymers. They are used to provide one or more of the following functions: seperation, reinforcement, filtration, drainage and liquid barrier. The most common types of geosynthetics are the following: Geomembranes
Geotextiles
Geogrids
Geosynthetic clay liners (GCL)
Geodraines
Geocomposites.

Dimple sheet is one of the most effective drainage products. It is a perfect replacement for drainage aggregate and can be used in every drainage situations. The use of Dimple sheet and Geotextile in Tunnel drainage is shown in the following picture.

Geosynthetic Clay Liner
A geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) is a woven fabric-like material, primarily used for the lining of landfills. It is a kind of geomembrane and geosynthetic, which incorporates a bentonite or other clay, which has a very low hydraulic conductivity. The resulting lower permeability slows the rate of seepage out of the landfill.

Geotextiles are permeable woven and nonwoven fabrics used to separate, filter, reinforce, protect, or drain. Geotextiles allow filtration / separation of granular layers in roads and rail applications, used to protect membranes in landfill applications, used in coastal defence applications and used in Landscaping to protect surfaces and structures from weeds and root growth.
