I've been following Dnews for some time now and liking it, but I have to say something here. This video is using a lot of bad standardization of modern and past culture while cherry picking and undermining some important and progressive studies. This is the kind of self affirming babble you'd expect from those not touting "Science" in their channel's name. Yes, Viagra was made before a female version. That's because it was a discovered cure for a prominent issue that can be solved with a purely physical solution. Female versions are on the way and that's great. Alll my wife and I could think when this was mentioned is, "...duh. Lube came first. That is a closer comparison to female Viagra."
"Will changing the story change the science?" The idea behind science is that it is a method and collection of data that supersedes cultural biases. So no. What studies show up on your latest Buzzfeed clickbait, maybe. So I guess there is a point there. The story changing will change the story, not the science. Hopefully the science will change the story. Which it seems to be doing, well and quickly, thanks in large part to the studies they are discounting, like those of species around us and the us of the past.
