WARNING:DON'T @ this cabin rental place. They completely ruined my entire weekend and laughed at me when I complained about it. If you want to take a shower and/or brush your teeth this is not the place to stay, because they don't have a filtration system on there well water andthey don't disinfect there water properly and if you want a hot tub as a amenity this is not the place for you! The hot tub at the Romantic Hideaway cabin only worked for 1 hour and 3 minutes the whole weekend and we had 3 unwanted guest: maintance men that did not know what they were doing. THIS IS A EXPENSIVE PLACE TO STAY AND THEY DO NOT CARE IF YOU ARE SATISIFIED OR NOT, AS LONG AS THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY, ALSO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE LAUGHED AT AFTER YOU PAID THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND I WAS TOLD TO GO BUY SOME BOTTLED WATER AFTER I GAVE THEM A WEEKS PAY FOR 2 NIGHTS!!! WE LEARNED A LESSON, BECAUSE AUNT BUGS IS THE BEST AND WE SHOULD HAVE STAYED WITH THEM, BUT WE DONE LAST MINUTE PLANS AND THIS IS WHAT WE GET!!!!!! THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN TO ME AGAIN. I ALSO HOPE THIS POST PREVENTS THIS FROM HAPPENING TO OTHER FAMILIES!!!! ONE MORE THING THEY DON'T OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS FOR ATTRACTIONS LIKE THERE WEBSITE SAYS, THAT IS A LIE AND A GIMICK TO GET YOU IN THERE!!!

Hi! We're completely new to G+ but this looks like a great community! We manage approx 60 vacation homes in the Russian River Area of Northern California... And almost ALL of our homes are dog friendly... Our office is super dog friendly and my medium mutt comes to work with me every day and there are two other dogs in other parts of the office. The Russian River (and most of Northern California) is really dog friendly... But we're always looking for travel tips and recommendations too. :)

A favorite spot for special occasions - the building itself is a treat too. It may not be an official historic building, but it is worth checking out before or after you eat. Applewood Inn is surrounded by orchards and redwoods, so you have a taste of local agriculture (and the fantastic onsite gardens and orchards that contribute to your meal) and the majestic redwoods for which the region is known. The wine (and beer) list is extensive and we appreciate the highly educated recommendations of the servers. One even went into the kitchen and asked the chef which was a better pairing for our meal - what a treat! Food is a blend of high-class California fusion and yummy European epicurean.

My favorite time to visit Main Street Station is during the live music in the evenings. A variety of jazz and blues artists perform here - including Wendy DeWitt (boogie woogie queen on piano and vocals). It's a real treat to see nationally (and internationally) renowned musicians while sipping a glass of wine, a beer or nibbling on a pizza. Expect pizza and pasta on the menu... Nightly specials liven things up and families are welcome! Since Main Street Station expanded into the neighboring store, they've added a full bar and lots more seating, so you aren't super scrunched between tables - a big plus.

Yum! We, in the office, eat lunch here at least once a week - and sometimes more! And I, personally, eat dinner here weekly (at least) as well! In the off season (winter) the Wednesday night dinners are killer: $25 per person for 3 course meal and add wine by the glass or bottle. In the high season a bistro dinner menu is tasty too: a short menu with several very tasty items at a time. You can grab to go items from the cold case and I highly recommend getting a box lunch to go if you are visiting local wineries and want to picnic out. Wines are available by the glass and to buy per bottle with a great selection of local wines. A featured wine each month is discounted slightly and is a great way to try a new wine. The owners and staff are fun and pleasant (to say the least)! And the biscuits are superb... Some of my favorites: curried couscous from the cold case, the Cubano sandwich, and the new espresso maker!

Stumptown Brewery is as local as it gets for local beer. And not many breweries have a separate yard where your dog can hangout while you have a beverage... Or a place to pull up from the river and eat lunch and keep paddling - or dinner when you're done for the day - a cold beer is awfully good sounding when you are headed down the river. Stumptown has all of the above. The food is bar food and cash only. Burgers, fries, onion rings, and such. The back deck is extensive and awesome for hanging out and looking at the river... And the lower lawn is home to the annual Beer Revival and BBQ cook off.

Superb! We have no qualms about sending guests to Boon - and do send them there regularly! Things that make me very happy at Boon: - They have a garden behind the restaurant and another at the related hotel/resort and grow tons of the produce they serve in these two gardens! - Heirloom tomatoes! Fresh basil and herbs, awesome cheeses. - Locally and sustainable sourced ingredients! - Vegetarian options... The kind that make meat lovers eat veggie because it look, tastes and smells so very good! - The People: super friendly staff make everyone feel welcome. Feel free to ask questions about the menu, ingredients and so on - it's welcomed. - Don't skip dessert - all good! Some unusual combinations made me think twice, but the result was worth it! - Wine menu - tons of Sonoma and Mendo county selections. Good beers too. - Most importantly - I've loved every meal I've ever eaten here. And I try to make them at home too... Don't miss Boon on your next stroll down Main Street in Guerneville.
