I just finished Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on the PS4. This is a great game. It has a lengthy campaign with lots of varied locations. It has decent puzzle solving to break up the gunplay. The gunplay is good. Enemies are a lot of fun to fight. Graphically, it is gorgeous and a definite improvement over the PS3 version (which I never played). It has good voice acting, animation and sound effects. Weapons sound nice and beefy, and the sound of enemies getting shot is satisfyingly gruesome. This game learned a lot from Uncharted, though it is a little more open than that series is.

Having said that, the story is not great. The characters are nothing more than place holders. You won't remember anyones name. The villain is lame, and the plot is just nothing special. The dialog is not particularly memorable, either. While this improves on the Uncharted formula in a number of ways, Uncharted ultimately feels like the better game because of the great characters, funny and entertaining dialog, cool stories and great music.

I would still recommend this, if you have not played it. The PS4 version is the best console version as it has a higher frame rate than the Xbox one version (Xbox One is capped at 30. PS4 is unlocked and targets 60. Figure that one out).

I picked up Gran Turismo 3 for cheap for future episodes of Drivecast. Here is some footage of it that I recorded. I screwed up on the settings, so it recorded with no game audio. I decided to just place a number of heavy metal demos in place of the game audio, so enjoy Gran Turismo 3 footage set to heavy metal.

Full track list:

1. Abnormity - Digression From Life
2. Aloha - Secret of the Stars
3. Carnage - Lost Soul
4. Blasphemous Cremation - Madness
5. Utumno - Twisted Emptiness
6. Toxic Shock - T.R.O.R./What Do You Know
7. Evilution - Jeffery's Bed
8. Sweet Savage - Eye of the Storm
