A Short Blurb About Me
I'm a 25 year old software engineer. I work for the department of rehabilitation. This might not sound unusual except for the fact that I ended up working in a field totally unrelated to my college degree in art. I don't feel bad about it though. I was able to study history, something I love, and still be able to get a decent job in another sector that I love but didn't know I would ever be interested in. People with disabilities apply for services through our department and I'm able to meet a lot of interesting people that truly need help succeeding in life. We only give them guidance but it's one of those fields where I feel like I'm making a difference.
When I'm not in classes, I prefer to spend my time reading. A lot of my friends prefer more social activities, such as sports or hanging out, but for me, I want to get a head start on my education and I don't feel right going out a lot when I could be furthering my studies. I spend a lot of time on a website called Academic Earth, since they have a large number of courses from prestigious universities that I can take advantage of. I enjoy the Yale course on the American revolution, so that's what I'm doing right now when I'm not busy with classes.
I love to write and I love to blog. Currently, I am a freelance writer and I have my own blog. Eventually, I hope to turn my blog posts into a book. I would like to continue as a freelance writer because I like to work on my own terms. I'm just a free spirit that way. I love being able to turn my thoughts into posts that people want to read or that people can relate to.
I must sound so depressing to anyone reading this. I'm not depressed, just still figuring out life's journey. When I'm not traveling I like to ride bicycles, play tennis, and rent house boats that I can take out on the lake and enjoy with my friends. This can be expensive depending on how long the rental is, so I always have my back up indoor activities. I love reading magazines. Right now my favorite magazine is better homes and gardens. I'm in the middle of building a garden myself.
That's about it for me. The rest I'm still learning.
