Google Developers Utah is meeting on Wednesday night. Come join us!
U CAN HAZ TEH SWAG: If you share with others the link for the GDG Utah - October meeting, we will enter your name into the raffle an additional time. So, you can get your name in the raffle twice. Once for showing up and once for sharing the event out on your wall. We want to get a lot of people there for this AngularJS presentation. We will also be announcing the Lego Mind Storm event happening in November. We want a lot of people there for that... as many as we can get. In order to help motivate people, we will be handing out some Google swags.

Please share the event out, and we will add your name to the raffle twice on the night of the event. This means that you will be twice as mad when someone else wins the awesome swag. Good luck to all!

Good news from the Bureau of Labor Statistics this morning—200,000 jobs added to the economy this month, for 22 straight months of job growth.

Mobile browsing (dominated by Safari) reached all-time high in December--7.7 percent of usage. So if your site can't handle small touchscreens, you'd better get cracking. Meanwhile, IE6 dropped below 1 percent of usage in U.S., but it's still more than 25 percent in China.

We've got to hit them in round 2 as well. Apparently they will be voting again on Wednesday!
There are two bills currently moving through US Congress on anti-piracy, Protect IP Act (PIPA) and Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). The bills do very little to stop anti-piracy, but rather regulate and censor the internet. Lots of tech start-up companies will be hurt if these bills are passed due to the strict rules and costly litigation. Basically, this is a tech industry nightmare, and must be stopped. Our Utah Congressman Chaffetz is working to stop these bills from passing, and needs your support. I’ve written a letter and sent it to him, and I hope you will consider doing the same. I have attached my letter for you to view. Contact Stuart Campbell, at Stuart@sullivanstrategies.com , who can draft a letter for you and give you info on this issue. Lets join together and stop PIPA and SOPA.

After being kinda skeptical at first, the OccupyX movement is pretty cool after all. Godspeed, warriors.
