Adobe Captivate Preferences
Did you know you can export your preferences within Captivate? I was recently asked in a Captivate training class how to maintain your project information from project to project so you do not have to constantly be filling in the same information within Project Information for a Captivate project. With so many different projects to maintain, any time you can save is extremely worthwhile.

It is possible to export your project preferences to maintain as a file so it can be imported into another project. This makes individual and team elearning projects consistent, and included in those preferences is the project information.

If you use this approach, you only need to add the project name and description for each project. All the other information is pulled in when you import those preferences.

eLearning courses are very time consuming so it is important to use any tips or tricks you can so you can keep the focus on user learning. The capability to import all project styles and preferences for projects will save you hours and hours of time.

ColdFusion 2016 was released rather quietly by Adobe recently. Adobe has changed their release version for ColdFusion with this release. At the same time, they released ColdFusion Builder 2016 for building ColdFusion projects.

Both of these new versions are available for download now. ColdFusion 2016 contains the same Developer version as past releases so you can build ColdFusion applications on your local machine at no cost. This version never expires.

ColdFusion Builder 2016 also offers a free trial version. That version converts to an Express Edition that can also be used at no charge once the trial version expires.

Are there video courses you cannot locate? Let me know, I am always open to suggestions and course ideas.

My next course will be on Dreamweaver and working with dynamic websites using Dreamweaver CC. Things have changed within Dreamweaver CC, so an updated course on how to work with this version is needed.

Let me know if there are other courses you wish to see.

Are you using Adobe Dreamweaver CC? If so, what do you think of the new CSS Designer panel?

If you have been using Dreamweaver for years across many versions, this panel can be a big change. The CSS Designer panel offers a more visual way to create CSS rules for your websites. It is a vast improvement for people new to CSS who are working in Dreamweaver, but people more accustomed to coding have mixed feelings about this new panel.

In Dreamweaver CC, you can use the shortcut Ctrl-Shift-Alt-P to get the old CSS styles panel back. This shortcut toggles, so if you use the shortcut again it will convert the panel back to the CSS Designer panel.

This allows you to use Dreamweaver CC and build your CSS styles the way you want to. Try the shortcut and let me know what you think.
