2014.06.11: We went for lunch and sat outside on the patio. It was a beautiful day, and the food was even better than I remembered from the last time I was here. Service was good, too! 2013: Food was great, and loved the decor and feeling of the place. It's huge and spacious, light and airy. Not particularly cozy; there's a TV above the bar, but it has a very open, friendly feel. The wine list was very Italian and awesome!

Solid choice for Italian in downtown Redwood City. I went here with my wife on a recent weekend evening, and we both thought the food was quite good without being overly pricey. (Additionally, the menu offered a lot of variety.) Ambiance and decor were decent, though the open kitchen (and the chef shouting orders at the cooking staff) created a fair amount of noise. I'm knocking it down one star for this and because the service was only so-so. Still, I wouldn't object to going back.

Donato Scotti brings an authentic, perfectly executed Northern Italian dining experience to downtown Redwood City. Few restaurants in the Bay Area offer as completely authentic a menu with wonderful expressions of antipasti, primi and secondi that instantly transport the diner to the lake country of Bergamo. Particular standouts include an appetizer of Chingale (braised boar) served on a wood grilled bruschetta, braised oxtail 'Bigoli' pasta and wood-fired pizzas reflecting the more understated northern aesthetic but as incredibly flavorful as its Neopolitan cousin. The wine program directed by Eric LeCours highlights unique, predominately Italian offerings that are accessible and paired perfectly with the menu while delivering service that would be commonplace in a restaurant with a much higher average check.

One of the few, good Italian places on the Peninsula. Nice presentation and wine list, but be prepared for indifferent and slow service.

A fantastic and unique Italian dining experience. All of the food is very unique, I can't say if it's authentic Northern Italian food since I'm not from there, but it's definitely not the same food you get at other Italian restaurants (no pasta bolognese, lasagna, etc.) We had the Burrata, Spinach Salad, Biogli, Carne por Due, and Short Ribs all paired with wine and they were all great. The service was also wonderful, our waiter, Juan, was very knowledgable and helpful.
