Whether it’s your first or your 10th time celebrating Sukkot, we hope you will join us for this fun and meaningful family event. We’ll enjoy crafts, decorating the sukkah, songs, a story, and learning about the holiday in an age-appropriate way with Rabbi Brenner Glickman. There will be yummy snacks for the kids, and delicious platters of gourmet food and wine for the adults. Volunteers will be on hand to entertain children if parents would like to enjoy some adult socializing.
For more information, please call (941)379-1997 or email elaine-glickman@comcast.net.

The Sukkah Happy Hour - part of Temple Emanu-El’s Shabbat Playdate series of events for young Jewish and interfaith families - is funded by an Incubator Grant from the Union for Reform Judaism.

For the sixth year in a row, Temple Emanu-El’s Summerfield Park Family Picnic and Havdalah was a hit! With our biggest crowd yet – over 250 attendees! – Temple members, guests, and plenty of families from all over Sarasota-Manatee gathered for relaxed socializing, playground fun, face painting, crafts, pizza, cold drinks, and free treats from the ice cream truck. This year’s event also afforded an opportunity for community service as children decorated Rosh Hashanah challah covers to be distributed to Jewish soldiers serving overseas. The evening ended with a beautiful, musical havdalah service led by Rabbi Brenner Glickman, surrounded by children and families, as the sun set over the park.
