One of better seafood rest.s along Morro Bay embarcadero. Cod cakes huge and tasty, butterfish melts in mouth, sandwiches very good. Nice people work there, service is very good. Get there early for dinner, or wait a bit. Medium size place, casual, nice decor. Been there many times; eat 1-2 times a year while up there.

A gem! Excellent food and friendly staff in an easygoing, authentic setting. Recommended in the NYT (otherwise hard to find).

Decently solid seafood. The oysters were fresh, the clam chowder was OK, not real complaints. There is a whiff of standard diner fare about the place -- hence why the three star OK rating. You won't go wrong here, but it's also not necessarily someplace you need to go out of your way to visit.

Outstanding. Had oysters and calamari all over the world. None better.

Informal and friendly place right on thw harbor front. Waiters very friendly and the food experience was good ( taste and portion size). Not exclusively a seafood place, they have other items.

We stumbled onto this place on a cold winter night by looking up the local restaurants on yelp. Although this is not a formal sit down dinning place, the quality of the food supersedes these minor details. Their BBQ oysters are to die for. They are literally as big as the palm of a man's hand. It is SO delicious. There are many other menu items that we have tried, such as their clam chowder, fresh oyster, yellow tail sashimi, shrimp cocktail etc. All of which are fine, but we can't shake off the delicious BBQ oysters off of our heads. My wife and I had to ended up coming back for dinner the next day after our visit to Heart's castle. And our destination was San Francisco (that means that we had to backtrack for about an hour)! Yes it is that good. And the view is pretty amazing as well.

So I researched for hours a decent restaurant that served wild caught salmon that would not cost a kidney and found Dockside Restaurant, note they have three places all in the same area but the restaurant is the one I dined at. They had a nice menu and although it was high priced (what isnt on the coast) it was not a rip off like some others. The food was very good. The bread was decent. I ordered the Tequila salmon and the server actually knew if the fish was local (it was King salmon caught about 12 mi off the coast).... the service was decent but they are very stingy about giving you more bread. The salmon was very good, not the best, but very good. Overall I was happy with the place. The other food looked good and the atmosphere was good. Would go again for a nicer meal than just fish and chips.
