What to Look for When Checking Out a Used Car

Shopping for the right used vehicle can take time, and the experts at Walla Walla Valley #Honda have developed this quick guide on checking out #usedcars for our customers in the #Kennewick area. Here’s what you should do before taking home a used car:

1. Inspect the Exterior: Park the vehicle on a flat surface to check its tires and the way it sits so that you can detect issues with suspension. Look over the paint for any dents, aftermarket paintwork, scratches, bubbles, or rust. Be sure to look at the frame if you can, since a bent or damaged frame is a sign that the vehicle was in an accident.

2. Examine under the Hood: Be on the lookout for any signs that might indicate the car was not taken care of properly, such as excess damage, stains, rust spots, or holes. Go over all belts and hoses for signs of cracking or leakage.

3.  Check inside the Car: The first thing to check in a vehicle’s cabin is the condition of all the seats. Take note of any stains, rips, or other forms of damage to the upholstery. Next, test regular functions like headlights, sensors, audio, AC, and other features when the car is not moving.

4. Take the Vehicle For a Drive: A test drive is one of the best ways to determine if a vehicle is in the right condition for you. Acceleration and braking should be smooth. If you hear any strange sounds or squealing, this could mean bad news.

5. Gather Information: Go over the vehicle history and service report of a used car before buying it. This will give you a better idea of how the previous owner treated the vehicle overall.

With these simple steps in mind, drive over to Walla Walla Valley Honda in #CollegePlace and start shopping for used cars today. Every pre-owned vehicle in stock has been inspected for the utmost in quality assurance. You can visit our dealership near Kennewick at 1240 SE Commercial Drive in College Place to browse our inventory. Contact us at 509-593-4868 if you have any questions.

Chicago Auto Show News: The 2016 Honda Pilot Debuts

The 2015 Chicago Auto Show #CAS15 was filled with announcements, but most pale in comparison to the debut of the 2016 #Honda Pilot. Honda's eight-person SUV shed its traditional boxy look for that of a sleek, curvy, modern crossover, and that's just the start of things.

The Pilot has evolved year after year to fit the needs of American drivers, and the 2016 model combines the practicality of a three-row family-friendly SUV with a sense of style that begs you to take it out on the town.

New features that make the #2016Pilot one of the most stylish and practical SUVs on the road include:

      — an available panoramic roof
      — a set of available 20-inch alloy wheels (a first for Honda)
      — a reversible cargo lid to keep your vehicle looking pristine
      — and an even more spacious cargo area thanks to the longer build of the 2016 model

Honda's updates to the Pilot are about far more than style, however. New comfort, convenience, and entertainment amenities abound on the crossover, and there's a brand-new engine (with a new transmission) under the hood. The new Honda Earth Dreams 3.5L V6 engine is set to be one of the most efficient in its class whether you opt for the standard six-speed automatic or the brand-new nine-speed automatic transmission.

Sitting behind the wheel of the 2016 Honda Pilot will put you within arm's reach of some of the best features in the SUV world, including:

      — an 8-inch touchscreen HondaLink interface
      — push-button ignition
      — a tech locker to keep your accessories locked up and safe
      — and up to five USB charging ports.

If you're one of our drivers looking to make the 2016 Pilot your next family vehicle, know that it's designed for safety with a new ACE body structure and available Honda Sensing safety technology that can help prevent accidents before they happen.

To stay up to date on the 2016 Honda Pilot and find out when it's coming to Walla Walla Valley Honda, be sure to add us to your circles here on Google+, and don't hesitate to contact our dealership with any questions.

The Honda FCV Concept Debuts in North America

Honda strives to remain at the forefront of alternative-fuel vehicles, and at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, Honda unveiled the Honda FCV Concept. This prototype model is on track to reach production in the near future, and its projected capacities will excite Walla Walla drivers.

What is the Honda FCV Concept? It’s a cutting-edge vehicle powered by hydrogen fuel-cell technology. The driving range of the Honda FCV Concept is estimated at 300 miles with an expected refueling time of just 3 minutes, which makes this vehicle as convenient as it is efficient. The four-door sedan showcased in Detroit features an Art Deco-inspired interior with a black and white color scheme, as well as enough room to seat 5 passengers comfortably.

The exterior of the Honda FCV Concept is much closer to what drivers can expect a next-generation fuel cell vehicle to look like when it launches in 2016. The face of the FCV concept has a futuristic style with a chrome band stretching from headlight to headlight, concealing LED daytime-running headlights. A rear fender vent increases aerodynamics, and shorter fender skirts accentuate its forward-thinking style.

If the Honda FCV Concept doesn’t have you excited already, Honda plans to introduce a series of 4-cylinder VTEC turbo engines before the end of the year. These new engines are anticipated to deliver a more thrilling driving experience for a range of Honda models while conserving fuel across the board. Production of these new VTEC turbo engines will begin later in 2015.

For more Honda news about future models and advanced technologies, stay tuned to Walla Walla Valley Honda. Visit our dealership at 1240 SE Commercial Drive in College Place to test drive any current Honda model available now.
