I posted this on my personal page but really want to make sure this gets the attention it deserves. Not my post, but the contemplation of death is something I have engaged in for several years now both in my daily life and my meditation practice. Through the lens of death life becomes clear.

When we are able to see beyond our own fear of the unknown, of other, the differences between Christianity, Islam and Judaism become trivial. And the similarities, the common meaning, ethics and morality of the three are brought to light. Thank you so much Krista Tippet and everyone who makes On Being possible for sharing the true nature of Islam. These stories resonate with my experiences and interactions with the Islamic community so unlike what is portrayed by most media outlets and even churches. They were a joy to listen to and something I feel I'll come back to again and again.

You know, if it weren't for the whole "getting locked into Apple's ecosystem" thing along with their obsessive need to control how the hardware is used after it's sold I would really, really, really want one. I'd even be willing to cough up the $3,000. Sadly the entire company was built by a control freak who was so good at marketing and mass manipulation that he managed to convince the rest of the world that those were good ideas.

No this diet probably won't work for everyone, I doubt it would even work for me. I just love that more people are starting to pay attention to their bodies. Personally I've found that the more I pay attention to the subtle aches, ticks and tingles the easier it is to interpret them and the happier I become. Feeling better is always nice! :-)

'Every day, they are learning how brilliant [Snowden] was,' said a former U.S. official with knowledge of the case. 'This is why you don't hire brilliant people for jobs like this. You hire smart people. Brilliant people get you in trouble.'"

I don't think I've ever so much of what's wrong with the thinking in Washington summed up in such a succinct and enlightening manner. I can't help but wonder how much more bullshit like this it's going to take to break enough out of their apathy and actual change the status quo.
