If you feel like doing something extraordinary this summer: check out the international INTERTOUCH event in the Czech countryside, which is two weeks packed with creative, social and outdoor games and activities in the group of people you'll remember for lifetime (no, it's not for sports people or outdoor junkies, you should have seen me when I attended it in 1998!) Feel free to let know people who look for a boost on their life journey or just want to do something fun quite out of the ordinary. And yes, after I personally attended it I got such a positive kick that it got me to my long journey through the world of experiential learning and also to facilitate some of the subsequent Intertouch events.

Czech Google celebrated 10 year anniversary and this is what happened in the office. Can't believe what they did at 1'20"!

Our awesome communities team (with honorable guests, hi Van!) met JUG leads and Java champions at JavaOne meetup in San Francisco yesterday and chatted about their community life and also our g.co/TogetherWithGoogleDevelopers with them.

** Brought to you by http://g.co/TogetherWithGoogleDevelopers . Sign up there to become a member and access the benefits for developer community leads (unless you already belong to GDGs) **

How can community leads engage their community members beyond meetups? While a meetup with a lecture or a workshop is the most popular dev community format, community members also love taking part on collaborative projects, teaching each other, doing things together beyond the core topic of the community or even build small informal hackerspaces. Let’s hear from Google and from the community leads from around the world what was done - and let's get inspired about what can be done!

Special guests sharing their experience about example non-meetup projects:

Filip Hráček (Google Dart): GDG Garage as a model of a collaborative ongoing project at a physical space

Mike Prentice (Google Developer Expert): GDG[x] as a community software collaborative project

Super excited on the stage of the pre-I/O GDG summit as I just launched a lightweight global program for developer community organizers called Together With Google Developers that we have been working on with my awesome colleagues in the past year (developers.google.com/community)

Naprostej souhlas.

+Amanita Design, well done a klobouk dole!

Had a great opportunity to work with over 150 community leads from USA+Canada today on #NACommunitySummit , exploring how to practically use the 6-element community model that was born after years of working with communities and fine-tuned on many similar workshops around the world in the past 12 months. And again I got reminded of what's my main motivation to work with/in communities: they can connect people globally through positive connections. This is not about one community network or one particular company supporting them. This is about connecting people in a new way across the world. There are not many other similarly powerful ways and we've just scratched the surface of what these powerful networks can do.
(And yes, Czech beer is everywhere. The best connector, eh? ;))
