http://www.mygolfspy.com/anchor-belly-putting-ban/

I know this topic has been covered to death in recent months, but here's my two cents on the anchor putter ban...which seems to be at odds with the majority view in this and other online golf communities.  What do you think?

I've seen +Ricky Potts opine on this issue before.  Let's just say we disagree.  But if the poll numbers on MyGolfSpy are any indication, he's in the minority.

While I agree, most higher handicap players should play from "the whites", it's not enforceable. You can't take peoples money, a lot at some courses, then tell people how to play.  I think, however, more could be done by the rangers at most courses to speed up play.  Most courses "hire" retired folks (who are generally looking to play for free on Tuesdays) to act as starters, rangers-but they are invisible once you leave the first tee.  I know of one course in my area that actually uses them wisely (congrats Turtle Creek, otherwise lacking).  On holes where pace my be a factor, the rangers are helping find golf balls, and providing good distances.  I'd like to see more of that.

Does anyone else feel like the hubbub over Rory's switch to Nike is much ado about nothing?

I don't have much of a chance to hit Nike sticks on the courses I play , most around my neck of the woods play TM , Ping and Callaway , I guess the next time I am in the golf store I will make it a point and hit a few new Nike clubs and see how they feel and look !

Did you guys see where Michael Jordan was asked not to return to a swanky Miami-area country club because he refused to conform to the club's dress code?

What does everyone think of golf dress codes?  Appropriate?  Too rigid?

I have to agree with +Donald Schramm .  All courses welcome their guests, and someone should have mentioned this prior to teeing off.  My guess is a member made a stink, which forced the club to respond.  I also agree that certain clothes are inappropriate, but unfortunately golf style is changing.  The trend is toward casual, I broke down this year and bought the TW13 shoes--and strangely-I like them.

Lots of talk today about who and what is to blame for wrestling being removed from the Olympics.  The blame directed towards golf is misguided.   #golf   #saveolympicwrestling

Tiger, Final Round: 12/12 on putts inside 15 feet

That's "closing" like vintage Tiger.

A bit dated, but one of my favorite pieces that I wrote in 2012.  Since there weren't any contributions in this section yet, I thought I would start it off.

I hope this portion of the community can get some interaction, so folks will feel they are actually getting some readers, traffic and (most importantly) interaction by posting their links here, and thus not be compelled to "spam" the other sections with their blog links.

So, post your links here, but don't just post your links here; take the time to read and interact with the content others post here as well!

I like to make per-emptive excuses, too ... (though generally in jest).

I'm with Lehman here.  You can't ban the long putter now.  As he says "that horse is out of the barn."
