http://memorial.yourtribute.com/Jeb-HenleyThank you all for your overwhelming responses to Jeb’s passing... As a caring community, we have decided to put together an online tribute - which will be made into a printed keepsake book for his children(he has two teens (16 and 17, respectively). Three years ago, their beloved mother also passed away - from cancer.

We would like to capture your memories ,stories, photos, quotes or videos you'd like to share via an online memorial we have established exclusively for Jeb.
The link is here - http://memorial.yourtribute.com/Jeb-Henley. It is very easy to use: no registration required - just an open place to share.

What you contribute will be made into a book to be gifted to his loving children. Please don't hold back - dig deep. They will treasure your words, memories and photos for a lifetime.

Kind Regards,
Ger

Jeb Henley. 1950-2014.

It is with deep personal regret that I share this news, but - I did not want you to hear it from anyone else, and I can not logistically phone each and everyone of you - as much as I want to. Jeb Henley, my close friend, business advisor, SJREI celebrity and adventurer, has passed away suddenly.

Just yesterday, I spent the afternoon with Jeb at my home. As always with Jeb, it was a productive and fun afternoon. Together, we recorded a podcast for a new segment that we were working on together. We also  planning the next SJREI meeting. I am glad to have his words recorded - little did I know that would be the last recording we would ever make. He was a radio guy and taught me much about the business of recording.

Jeb’s passing is a shock.Though he had been having some issues breathing recently; he simply attributed it to his longtime asthma (which never stopped him).  I know he was on a road trip with his son a few weeks ago, and had to go to the emergency room.  He was told it was the altitude; not his heart. Clearly there was a misdiagnosis....  Just yesterday I asked him, “would you care for a glass of wine?” He declined, saying, "I can't, I'm still having asthma issues."

As a writer, I am at a loss for the right words to aptly describe what the loss of such an special man who has impacted so many means for me. To say it briefly; I'm saddened beyond belief. I’d like to share a warm memory from yesterday. As you may know, Jeb loved cars. He was driving his new cream BMW convertible with red leather interior - a spectacular vehicle and my teenage son Colin was, of course, beyond  impressed, salivating almost at the vehicle. I told Jeb it screamed "mid-life crisis" and we all laughed. He almost managed to sell Colin the car, ha! I firmly said, “it’s too flashy, no way - and impractical to boot.” We all had a laugh.

Jeb and I had spent a lot of time together collaborating on business, and we ate many a meal together, just last week at the Real Estate Connect event in the city, he kept me laughing all day. Please pray for his two children Jessie & Jonathan who are teens - still in high school, and their beloved mom died of cancer just a couple of years ago. My heart aches for them and for the lovely man who was their father, a wonderful dad, friend and important member of our community.

Life is precious this again highlights how fleeting things are and there are no guarantees. Through his work, through his beautiful children - his spirit will live on. The writer Albert Camus once said, “In the midst of of winter I discovered there was in me an invincible summer!” When I think of summer, I think of Jeb. I think of his convertibles. I think of his smile. I think of his traveling. His invincible spirit will live on…

Rest in peace Jeb.
