House of Annapurna - #Nepal
Taking the less traveled foot trails on Nepal’s Annapurna Circuit can be immensely rewarding. A trail between Chamje and Tal, now skipped by most in favor of a new—and much easier—road. “But taking the road means missing some of the most spectacular scenery on the entire circuit. The unfolding view of the river, canyon, and lush vegetation keeps beckoning you to climb higher up the trail in order to capture the magnificence of the range’s landscape.

Today was the Autumn Festival which was even better - big emphasis on food and drinks, plus handicrafts, artwork, games for kids and some pretty good African-style drum music and dancing. Though to be honest my wife wasn't totally overwhelmed by the quality of the artwork, and the weather could have been better...

Because of our intelligence we human beings are uniquely capable not only of creating problems, but of doing so on a large scale. Therefore, it is important that we use our intelligence in constructive ways. That’s what warm-heartedness and concern for others lead us to do.

This was written in 2002 - I enjoyed reading bits of it, then forgot about it. 12 years later some might be a bit outdated, but still a good read:  http://joeclark.org/book/sashay/serialization/home.html
Updated 2007.04.15. A note on corrections. When you buy the book, you get the entire text (but no graphics) on the included CD-ROM, along with a few extras, like fonts and utilities. The following files provide the original copy (with almost no graphics, save for Chapter 13), corrected as of ...

Just wondering - are the needs of users with hardware disabilities an appropriate topic for discussion here? There seems to be a lot of overlap, in both problems and solutions, with bodily disabilities. Many people cannot afford the kind of machine needed to run a "modern" OS and even another stick of RAM might be hard to come by in some places.
