IPHONE 6 HAS APPLE GEARING UP FOR THE MOST MASSIVE IPHONE LAUNCH YET

Apple is apparently getting ready for a massive iPhone 6 launch, at least according to Chinese publication Commercial Times (via Digitimes). According to the report, the trade paper has learned that Foxconn is expected to land orders for 90 million iPhone 6 units this year alone.
An analyst at Citigroup Global Markets quoted by the Chinese paper said that the iPhone 6 will help Apple further grow in the smartphone business, with shipments expected to rise 23% this year, compared to 13% growth posted a year earlier. Meanwhile, the growth rate of global smartphone shipments will slow to 28% this year, compared to 40% in the previous period. Smartphone sales in mature markets are “likely to edge up to 4%, down from 5%” in 2013, the same analyst said.

GOOGLE NEXUS 6 RELEASE DATE COMING: DEVICE RUMORED TO BE A ‘LIGHTWEIGHT’ VERSION OF LG G3

Amid rumors that the next-generation version of Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Nexus smartphone, dubbed the Nexus 6, could be released in the second half of this year, a new report said Tuesday that the handset could get some design cues from the unannounced LG G3 smartphone.
While there is some confusion among consumers about the manufacturer of the Nexus 6, Gizmodo Germany reported that the device would not be manufactured by Lenovo (HKG:0992) as rumored earlier. Instead, the handset would be made by LG (KRX:066570), and it could be a "lightweight" version of the upcoming LG G3, which is expected to be announced sometime in June.
