In addition to running my own business I am the Vice Chair on the Tees Valley CIPD Branch (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) - Charitable organisation. On top of a number of other things we arrange seminars for HR practitioners and business leaders (large or small) that cover a range of subjects including Managing Business, Personal PR, Employment Law updates, Managing people, Learning & Development and other personal development topics. We have recently launched this years calendar of events and the line up this year is fantastic. This year we have national and international speakers coming to the Tees Valley, including Andrew Thorpe of MOJO your business and Paul McGee otheriwse known as The SUMO Guy, author of his first of many bestsellers Shut Up and Move On. The next event is 07 October (Employment Law Update, delivered by Ed Duffield of Bond Dickinson) and The SUMO Guy on 15 October 2014. CIPD members can attend these events for free (benefit of membership) but business owners/other managers can also attend for a nominal charge of £10.00pp (excluding the SUMO Guy which is £20.00pp). If you would like to view the whole calendar or book a place on any of the events please do so at the following website: http://www.cipd.co.uk/branch/tees/events
