This summer was perfect. Perfect because I adopted two adorable black kittens, perfect because i found out I was expecting my first baby; and also perfect because I meet so many wonderful babies and families. Like little baby A here – ten days old and already perfect. How can they be so tiny and so fascinating?

Newborn sessions are the most relaxed shoots. Why? Because I shy away from bean bags or cute props that do or don’t fit, it’s all about that overwhelming love that shows when you hold your newborn. Emotion is better than perfection. It’s the love connection between parents and babies that inspires me and I think these are the photos that will also stand the test of time.

Some galleries do not need caption, they have so much love that no words are necessary. These two gorgeous parents to be decided to meet me for their pregnancy session in the park where they had their first date – Hamsptead Heath. This is one of my favourite parks in the whole London – it’s has all the textures a photographer can dream of wrapped in the warm golden sunset light.

If you are expecting, make sure you take photos. Maybe not for you, but for your kids! I promise you, they will want to know and see you at this important time in your lives. The photos you take will be their time machine.

Light can so beautifully elevate a photo. Good light makes you feel more, it’s like fairy dust that adds a tad more charm to real life emotions. Had a 4m wake up call this summer to meet these two for their anniversary shoot. And they were so sweet and beautiful, it felt like it was my anniversary. London is full of beautiful landmarks, but it’s more beautiful when you add in the mix two people in love. Honestly, it felt like meeting old friends:

I strongly believe that vacation photos are not about landmarks, they are about love, love, love. Love is the best memory from any family trip.

This vacation photo shoot at Tower Bridge has everything I am looking for in family photos: connection, love, cuddles and joy. I don’t know why parents take less family photos as the children grow up, I love shooting pre-teens, their personality and our fun discussions always make the shoots super interesting. They have strong personalities, hobbies, interests and just like younger kids, enjoy being cuddled by their loving parents:

I am photographing the memories I wish I had. For example, I wish I had photos of my parents young and in love before they had their two baby girls. Pictures where time stopped and I can go back to when their love story started. The prologue of our family story. So yes, sometimes the photos aren’t only about you. Couple pictures are important for your future kids and even for your proud parents. And who doesn’t love receiving that personalised Christmas card from their family?

I am loving this new trend amongst young parents of organising a baby session as a gift for their little ones. This is my 3rd ‘first birthday’ shoot this month. We met just four days shy of Archie’s first birthday so that his parents could offer him their present – a Greenwich family photography session that will capture a lifetime of cherished memories <3

One of the things I always tell parents before our shoot is that it’s okay if the little ones are not looking at the camera or if they get tired. Toddlers are not supposed to be perfect models, I am more interested in their love of exploring and having fun with mum and dad. And if that makes them tired and they need a bit of down time, that’s fine too.

Take little H here, all he wanted to do during our family shoot is explore and then have some cuddles from his daddy. All these moments are part of the real family life and are worth capturing. Honesty is more important than perfection. No parent has ever looked at a cheesy smile and said ”what a precious moment”. Kids do not need to pose or smile on command, they are PERFECT just they way they are. And I love showing that, trust me, these memories are priceless!

This Marylebone Family Photo Shoot sums up perfectly summertime and life with a baby and an older kid - you have your energetic older brother, a cute smiley baby and lots of sun drenched kisses.

These family portraits are the kind of photos I wish I had with my parents. Don't get me wrong, I still have my memories and stories, but I wish I had more photos of me playing with my parents in our cherry orchard, watching together our favourite TV shows about wildlife, baking a cake with mum or playing with our family dog. That's why I love photographing family life in a way that is meaningful and real.

”Family as Art” is how I would describe my family photography style. The one thing I love about moment based family portraits is each session is purely motivated by loving moments of connection, precious moments that will be cherished for many years to come.

Some photo shoots have a magic to them that I cannot explain. Perhaps it’s a combination of beautiful light, a sweet family and the cutest baby smile. Take this first birthday photo shoot with little Anaya. We met just a few days shy of her first birthday so that her parents could offer their present – a sunny spring evening of fun in Greenwich Park has now become part of their family legacy.

How to prepare for a couple shoot is probably one of the most frequent questions my couples ask me. Well, first of all, bring all the smiles and all your jokes (bad jokes also bring out the laughter, so do not forget those at home!). Forget about props or too many outfit changes, I want to capture what you feel for each other, a visual story of your beautiful relationship.
What you’ll wear is less important than the loving gaze you give your partner. Be goofy, be spontaneous, be caring, everything you do will translate in gorgeous couple portraits if you are present and enjoy quality time with your better half.
