I wish Google would hurry up and give us a definitive end date for + so I can make a daily graphical countdown. Right now I could just count down months, but the daily thing would be more fun.

Quick, someone sell me on pluspora. Give me ALL the details. Hit me with the 411. I'm curious. Why is it good?

Looks like people didn't share enough to win the war, but you can still win by visiting my Etsy shop and picking up a Google+ propaganda poster! I might retire this print once things go down in 2019, so get it now while it's still available! :D

I joined Google+ during the good ol' Beta Days.

I've never cared for Google. I only reluctantly signed up for G+ after several of my friends convinced me it was the new hotness and after mulling things over, I decided to pull the trigger and got one of my friends to send me an invite.

Here's a quick timeline of how things followed:

- After joining, I was circled by a bunch of randos and few of my irl friends. I returned the favor and soon there was a nice little circle jerk going on. Who knew some of these randos were big names online and would help to further my artistic endeavors?

- After seeing everyone losing their minds and hating on anything non-Google related, I decided to make up a few war time propaganda posters. I managed to get some key shares from some influential Plussers, they went viral all over the interwebs.

- Using my new found internet fame, I continued to produce posters and started to rack up the people following me.

- Google put me on the Suggested User List and over a month's time, I found myself racking up over 200,000 new followers. Or should I say over 200,000 non-interactive spam/fake accounts. They eventually took me (and a couple other people I knew that got on the SUL at the same time) off the list after a month.

- The invasion of the Social Media Marketing G+urus. Yup. Everywhere. You know who you are and what you do. Every shyster, charlatan, and snake oil salesman came out of the woodwork to try and get you to pay them to have them help you to "make G+ work better for you."

- People still believed that G+ would TOTALLY CRUSH FACEBOOK. Most predicted within a year. Some said 5, to be vaguely sure about their decision. This never transpired. (I knew it wouldn't.)

- LOLGOOGLEGLASS

- Google continued to strip away/change features on G+. Making things "better" they said. I viewed each change as another nail in the coffin for this platform. Some staunch advocates continued to say all the changes were for the greater good.

- I got bored here and went back to Facebook and Instagram. Engagement picked up and people who said there was no engagement on FB were wrong.

- I'd come back from time to time and see the same people posting the same things and hiding out. Convinced any other platform was a horrific experience. I witnessed more changes here that would go on to contribute others to jump ship. (mostly back to FB)

- I read an article saying that G+ was going to die.

- Here we are today.

While I'm not surprised to see the failure of another Google product that I predicted would tank due to changes made "for the betterment of the platform" and not listening to the users, I guess I'm sad in some ways for the people that entrenched themselves here and never saw the writing on the wall. People that were happy to live in the G+host Town that G+ became over the years.

To the people here that supported my art and followed me, I give you a hearty "Thank you." To all the others, be sure to unplug the iron and shut off the lights before you leave.

I came here with the intention to make money with my art. Mission accomplished. If you'd like to give me more and support my artistic endeavors, check out my Etsy shop, please: www.Etsy.com/shop/justonescarf

Oh, and I vowed I'd make it on the Suggested User List. Mission also accomplished.
